Job description

Location: On-site in Santa Rosa, Ca.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs work related to Electronic Banking Products including: Automated Clearing House (ACH), Debit Card, Consumer and Business Online Banking, Positive Pay, Automated Teller Machine (ATM), Person to Person (P2P), and Remote Deposit Capture (RDC) products.
POSITION TYPE & SCHEDULE:
Full-time, non-exempt position. 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday from 8:30am-5:30pm. This schedule is subject to change based on the business needs of the Bank.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Operations: 40%
  • Review daily debit card reports and identify fraud trends. Recommend corrective actions to management.
  • Assess debit card, ACH and Zelle disputes to determine bank and customer liability as well as applicable recovery options in accordance with established Regulation E guidelines and network rules.
  • Initiate chargeback process through the vendor network for relevant transactions. Complete funds transfers, issue provisional credit, credit revocation, posting of final credits, and communicate dispute status to customers.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding Digital Channels and Products, research problems and aid in resolution.
  • Process debit card return mail to include logging and forwarding of cards if needed.
  • Perform departmental certifications of control accounts.
  • OFAC processing to include the monitoring for alerts and timely notification to the risk department.
  • Create and transmit wire instructions for share trade redemption or purchases

ACH Processing: 40%
  • Manage daily functions of ACH back office transactions. Work with ACH portal to return unauthorized ACH transactions.
  • Setup and maintain the following products: ACH, Business Online Banking, Sweeps, Remote Deposit Capture, and Positive Pay.
  • Perform ACH processing functions: non-post, stop payments, death notifications, reclamations and file originations.
  • Perform file movement and process customer originated ACH files.
  • Test and evaluate new releases of the core application system as they pertain to ACH functions and controls.
  • Respond to customer ACH inquiries.
  • Attend training classes provided by vendors, processors or associations.

Channel Balancing: 10%
  • Perform daily, Bi-weekly, and monthly balancing to keep accounts accurate and current. Research and document all discrepancies. Balance offsite ATMs and processor network, and order cash as needed.
  • Reconcile ACH files, person to person and Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) settlement balancing to core banking system.

Risk Monitoring: 10%
  • Review remote and mobile capture deposits daily to identify potentially fraudulent activity. Decide whether or not to let a transaction proceed and report potential fraud to management.
  • Communicate with customers and branch personnel to resolve any deposit exceptions.
  • Review and respond to alerts from the department's anomaly detection software.
  • Analyze changes in customer trends and propose adjustments to management in order to enhance the department's risk response.
  • Perform callback on EFT/ACH products to include maintenance updates, new enrollment setup and forensic callback to identify potential vulnerabilities

Non-Essential Functions:
  • Perform special projects and research as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of core banking system applications.
  • Knowledge of item processing practices.
  • Knowledge of ACH procedures and practices.
  • Intermediate level skills operating a personal computer including word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software.
  • Ability to work in teams or independently without supervision and handle multiply priorities.
  • Must be a highly flexible self-starter with leadership and creative problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, sit, walk, twist and turn.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to use a computer keyboard and calculator.
  • Work environment is indoors, majority of the time is spent sitting at a desk.

Education and Experience:
A combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma; and knowledge typically gained through a minimum of two years of experience in banking, cash management, or bank back-office environment.
