Responsibilities:
Job Summary
The Event Service Tech, reports to the Conference & Events Supervisor and is responsible for the setup of the meeting rooms and the audiovisual equipment for all scheduled functions. Independently performs a wide variety of setup tasks specific to the conference center and the client's needs. Performs specialized sanitization of rooms. Transports heavy equipment and furniture between storage and the conference rooms. Performs a wide variety of miscellaneous clerical and administrative functions for the department which includes inventory of AV equipment and conference furniture. Analyzes and solves computer hardware, software and application problems. Greets client in meeting space and confirms the room set up and equipment is to client's requests and specifications to ensure a successful meeting. Assists users with initial trouble-shooting procedures and provides instruction to new users. Responds promptly, professionally, and efficiently, providing a high level of customer service focused assistance. Must be able to handle multiple priorities and tasks, utilize effective verbal and written communication skills in highly emotional situations, work with minimal supervision and be self-motivated, flexible, versatile, and professional. This position will require spending time at all locations base on events needs.
Essential Functions
  • Responsible for the furniture setup of the meeting rooms and the audiovisual equipment for all scheduled functions. Ensuring that AV equipment requested is available, set up, tested and in good working order in requested meeting room. AV equipment includes but is not limited to laptops, LCD projector, document camera, portable audiovisual equipment, and sound systems. Monitors maintenance of AV and telecommunication equipment and schedules for repair and preventative maintenance. Analyzes and solves computer hardware, software and application problems such as improper installation confirmation and/or user error. Performs light housekeeping for the conference center rooms to ensure the room is "Customer Ready". Includes sanitization of tables and counters, emptying trash and vacuuming if needed. Acts as conference room contact for routine and preventative maintenance. Follows up to ensure completion of maintenance.
  • Communicates regularly with colleagues of the Events Team. Keeping team updated on customer needs and identifying and proactively problem solving any potential challenges. Communicates with clients that have AV questions prior to event. Assists in completing the process within SharePoint event software for booking meetings and conducting confirmation emails for upcoming meetings if needed.
  • Processes requests for AV equipment, checks equipment out to users, monitors use of equipment, maintenance, repair, and equipment Preventative Maintenance programs. Documents repair history and processes repair invoices for all equipment assigned. Ensures support compliance with Scrubs software. Run compliance reports daily as well as review video for foreign objects daily.
Education
  • Vocational/Specialized training Audio Visual Technician / Vocational Specialized training - Preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED - Required
Experience
  • 2 years in the AV industry, conference services or similar with customer service or public contact - Required
  • 3 years experience in the AV industry, conference services or equivalent with customer service or public contact; one (1) year telecommunications experience - Preferred
  • Other Working knowledge of windows, word, excel, power point. Working knowledge of Housekeeping, in a general setting; demonstrated proficiency with AV equipment. - Required
Licenses and Certifications
  • Driver License AZDL - Valid And In State - Required
