Job description

Our Lead Appointment Scheduler, your primary responsibility will be to guide the scheduling team to efficiently and accurately work with inbound patient calls for patients seeking dermatological care. You will work closely with the practice manager, staff, and patients to ensure smooth scheduling operations and exceptional patient service.

Schedule: Monday through Friday (On-site)

What You'll Do:

- Train and mentor appointment scheduling team as well as monitor calls and deliver weekly and monthly results

- Answer incoming calls for all practices (meet weekly call goal)

- Schedule appointments for patients, including initial consultations, follow-up visits, and procedures, using EMR

- Confirm appointments and insurance with patients, providing necessary instructions and information

- Handle rescheduling or cancellations, accommodating patient needs while managing the office's scheduling requirements

- Deliver exceptional customer service by handling patient inquiries on appointments, procedures, and office policies with clarity and care

- Ensure patients receive all pre-appointment instructions, such as preparation guidelines for specific procedures or tests

Skills and Experience:

- Minimum of 2 years medical scheduling required

- Knowledge of insurance plans and complex multi-provider scheduling highly preferred

- Previous experience leading a team to achieve metrics is desirable

- Knowledge of dermatology procedures and terminology preferred

- Exceptional interpersonal skills with a patient-first mindset

- Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
