Accounting Specialist
Location: Concord, CA
Pay Range: $30.00 to $31.50 per hour
Work Schedule: Onsite, full-time, Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week
Temporary, Onsite

We are actively seeking an Accounting Specialist to join a claims administration and accounting team in Concord, CA. This is a hands-on temporary role where you will support core accounting activity, help keep refund and recovery processing on track, and contribute to accurate client account maintenance in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

  • Process refund and recovery checks accurately and efficiently
  • Post refunds and recoveries within the accounting system and coordinate with management as needed
  • Prepare and distribute client checks and reports on scheduled deadlines, including month-end and weekly processing cycles
  • Reconcile client imprest accounts and assist with related account maintenance activities
  • Process vendor payments and maintain accurate vendor records
  • Manage stale-dated checks, returned checks, and escheatment-related activities
  • Perform daily positive pay uploads and support account control procedures
  • Maintain W-9 documentation, B Notice requirements, and other compliance-related records
  • Enter deposits and assist with monthly balancing and reporting responsibilities
  • Support the creation, maintenance, and improvement of process documentation
  • Assist with additional accounting and administrative projects as assigned
To Be Successful in This Role, You'll Bring:
  • 2+ years of accounting experience.
  • High school diploma or GED required, AA or BA degree preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Ability to quickly learn and navigate new accounting systems
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
