Job description

As we expand our impact, we are growing our team by hiring for key roles to support our expanding offerings. We are seeking a Ceramics Fabrication Project Manager who will oversee all aspects of project management in the ceramic studio and will play a key role in working with the Ceramics Director to facilitate client projects. The Project manager will support the daily operations of the shop's management and will be the primary liaison between the studio and the artist. This role will be responsible for executing ceramics fabrication projects and participating in shop organization and maintenance as needed.

Areas of responsibility include:

  • Maintain andย monitorย project plans, schedules, work hours, budgets, and expendituresย 
  • Serve as project lead on select projects, from early concept through final deliveryย 
  • Manage a team of three fabricators and hold regularย one-on-oneย check-insย to support growth and alignmentย 
  • Organize andย participateย in planning meetings with theย clientย and the Ceramics Directorย 
  • Oversee documentation, coordination, and communication of project change orders, ensuring updates reach clients and internal teamsย 
  • Lead dailyย check-insย with the fabrication team to review priorities, deadlines, and task distributionย 
  • Develop and implement workflows that support clarity, efficiency, and creativeย problem-solvingย 
  • Track project progress and address challenges proactivelyย 
  • Implement quality standards to ensure all deliverables meet studio expectationsย 
  • Maintain a project management calendar to keep all phases on trackย 
  • Manage studio materials and inventory, including ordering equipment and supplies as neededย ย 
  • In partnership with the Ceramics Director, prepare and send estimates and invoices and collect tax forms for new clientsย 
  • Prepare the studio for client visits and project needs, ensuring a functional, welcoming, and creative environmentย 
  • Maintain adherence to studio safety practices and regulationsย 
  • Collaborate with staff, shops, and departments across the studio to support shared projects and workflowsย 

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experienceย 
  • Strong ceramic fabrication skills across a range of techniquesย 
  • Basic 3D rendering abilitiesย 
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skillsย 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and solve problems independentlyย 
  • Strong communicationย and interpersonal skillsย 
  • Comfortable working both collaboratively and independentlyย 
  • Flexible, creative, and resourceful approach to workย 
  • Proficiencyย with file management systemsย
