Radiology Night Technologist

JOB SUMMARY

POSITION SUMMARY
Wage: $29.40-$46.73
This full-time(0.9 status or 36hrs per week) position performs quality imaging exams under the direction of the Director of Radiology and the technical direction of the Radiologist. Operates imaging equipment to produce quality imaging of a patient's body for diagnostic purposes to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Explain the process to the patient and instruct and assist patients in assuming the physical position for the exam to reduce anxiety and obtain patient cooperation.
Works with patients of all ages to develop an understanding of their physical and emotional status.
Operates CT scanner to scan designated anatomical area of the patient.
Administers contrast media via oral and/or intravenous administration through existing IV, accessed Portacath, and/or starting an IV.
Operates Radiology equipment, selecting appropriate technical factors, to acquire quality images for requested exams.
Operates MRI system to achieve high-quality brain imaging in a Stroke code event.
Evaluate images for technical quality.
Operates the department computer system for scheduling, completing, and billing procedures.
Operates PACS system to ensure all images are verified and sent.
Reviews upcoming scheduled appointments for appropriate orders, and prior authorizations.
Monitor CRTIS worklist for interpretation completion. Address missing images or requests for additional information.
Monitor the Unread worklist in PACS. Check for outstanding exams, and missing reports, and reference unspecified exams.
Manage All Exams worklist in PACS. Eliminate duplicate exams and monitor appropriate exam status.
Reallocate and Merge exams in PACS.
Manage the Scope exams in PACS, cross-referencing with EHR for completion or cancellation.
Performs daily quality control, reports equipment malfunction to the Radiology Director, and reports safety concerns to appropriate personnel.
Other duties may be assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education and/or Experience
Completion of two years of training in an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology school. Previous experience in the field is desirable. CT and MRI experience preferable. Willingness to cross-train desired.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must maintain certification with the ARRT in Radiologic Technology and obtain certification in Computer Tomography within 1 year from the date of hire.
Mandatory Basic and Advanced Life Support Training per policy
