Description

American Traveler is hiring a night shift MRI Technologist with at least 1 year of MRI experience and ARRT-MR or ARMRIT certification.

Details
  • >10-hour night shift schedule, Monday-Thursday from 8:30 PM to 7:00 AM with rotating weekend call
  • Hospital-based MRI unit with 1 bed and an average of 25-30 patients per 24 hours
  • Patient population ranges from 5-year-olds to geriatric, with rare NICU infants with suspected brain bleed
  • Common diagnoses and procedures include stroke, internal auditory canal (IAC), pituitary, feet, abdomen, brain, total spine, defecography, urograms, and enterography imaging
  • Device implant procedures occur on Wednesdays during the day, with Medtronic devices supported 24 hours
  • Works as solo MRI Tech on nights, supported by an MRI Assistant
  • Utilizes GE Cigna Artist 1.5 MRI equipment, MR 400 tele monitor, Medirad MRI IV pump, and ViewPACS
  • EPIC EMR experience preferred
  • No floating required
  • On-call requirement of one weekend per month, Friday night through Monday morning, with a 1-hour response time
  • Set schedule cycle with holiday coverage required every other holiday
Requirements
  • in either acacute or outpatient settings
  • Current BLS and ARRT-MR or ARMRIT certification required
  • License required if applicable
  • Minimum 1 year of MRI experience required
  • Skilled in MRI safety protocols and identifying bore-compatible items
  • Experience setting up suction and operating O2 equipment
  • Able to handle critical or vented patients accompanied by ICU RN and RT
  • Experience placing patients on MR tele and administering contrast
  • Strong critical thinking skills and comfort caring for confused patients
  • Punctuality required
  • Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
  • Facility is a 130-licensed-bed Stroke Center, not trauma designated and not a teaching hospital
  • Support team includes a transporter until 11:00 PM, MRI Assistant, Lead MRI Tech, and offsite radiologist available 24/7
  • RT, Hospitalist, and Rapid Response/Code Team available around the clock
  • Orientation includes NEO plus one week of day shift and one week of night shift unit-specific orientation
  • Black scrub color required
  • Free parking provided
  • First-time travelers will be considered
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
  • Returning employees must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year after working a permanent position
  • RTO approval available for up to 7 days
