Your Role
In your role as Weekend Controls Engineer, you will provide on-site automation and controls engineering support for weekend production, acting as the escalation point for complex issues beyond automation technician scope and completing improvement work when equipment availability is highest.

  • Make code or configuration changes when necessary (expected to be rare) and follow established change control and documentation requirements.
  • Execute weekend improvement work and small-to-medium projects (e.g., recurring downtime countermeasures, alarm cleanup, minor sequence improvements, obsolescence mitigation, component replacement, standardization).
  • Provide operational support for Rockwell/Allen-Bradley systems (majority of site equipment) and support Ignition SCADA and Beckhoff PLC equipment as applicable.
  • Work in hazardous/classified areas where ignition source control requirements apply, following site isolation practices and procedures.
  • Provide clear handoffs and "weekend learnings" to weekday engineering/maintenance teams.

  • Independently troubleshoot PLC-controlled machinery by navigating existing programs and systems.
  • Work safely and effectively in hazardous/classified areas following applicable procedures.
  • Experience with Ignition SCADA (development or troubleshooting) and/or integrating Ignition with PLC systems.
