Job Brief
Tip-Top Brain is looking for a creative, camera-savvy storyteller to plan, shoot, and edit the short-form videos and photos that bring our programs to life on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. Working closely with our team, you will craft eye-catching visuals that spark curiosity and inspiration in students and parents.
The ideal candidate has a genuine passion for education, an instinct for trending formats, and the organization to keep multiple projects moving on a tight posting calendar.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Produce a steady mix of Reels, Stories, single-image/video posts, and carousels-experimenting with new formats to maximize reach and engagement.
  • Capture and edit video/photo of all day-to-day programs-classes, camps, staff trainings, community outreach-and keep a well-tagged, cloud-based asset library.
  • Color-grade footage, balance audio, add captions, and retouch photos so each post looks studio-quality on mobile.
  • Plan weekly content themes and publish via Meta Business Suite, Later, or similar scheduling tools.
  • Research platform trends (hooks, sounds, effects) and pitch fresh ideas during weekly content meetings.
  • Maintain an editorial calendar and adjust posting times for optimal reach and engagement.
  • Monitor comments, DMs, and respond to or route inquiries within 24 hours.
General Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the team to align visuals with copy and campaign goals.
  • Ensure all content reflects Tip-Top Brain's brand guidelines, values, and child-safety standards.
  • Create accurate open/closed captions and add alt-text so every post is accessible.
  • Track basic performance metrics (views, likes, shares) and flag high-performing creatives.
  • Occasionally support live-streaming or webinar production for parent information.
Qualifications / Requirements.
  • 2+ years managing social channels and email marketing for a consumer brand with measurable growth results.
  • Excellent copywriting skills-concise, upbeat, and parent-focused.
  • Comfortable directing children on camera; prior work in camps, schools, or youth programs is a plus.
  • Proficient with TikTok & Reels native editors and desktop tools (Premiere Pro, Final Cut, CapCut).
  • Working knowledge of Canva, Adobe Photoshop, or Adobe Illustrator.
  • Hands-on experience with Meta Business Suite, TikTok Dashboard.
  • Able to plan tasks in Asana, streamline conversations in Slack, and maintain structured content calendars in Airtable.
  • Familiarity with paid ad managers (Meta Ads, TikTok Ads) and audience retargeting is a plus.
  • Strong eye for lighting, composition, audio, and motion typography.

Schedule & resources: Part-time 20 hrs/week minimum, on-site in Astoria, including Saturdays. We supply professional cameras, mics, editing workstations, and licensed software.
90-day success targets: Grow combined Instagram + TikTok reach 30%, hit โ‰ฅ 5% average Reel/TikTok engagement, drive 50 qualified clicks/month to inquiry forms, publish 4-5 videos + 3-4 photo/carousel posts weekly, and present a concise monthly performance dashboard.
Compensation: $35 - $45 per hour, commensurate with experience.
