This is an on-site position in Palo Alto, California.
The job: 
We are seeking a versatile, sharp, detail-oriented Web Operations Specialist to
support our online platforms. This is a dynamic role perfect for someone
who sits right at the intersection of web development and design, technical
systems support and content management.
On any given day, you might be updating an Elementor layout, building new pages
and ensuring design is consistent and mobile-responsive, diving into API
documentation to troubleshoot data sync issues between our event management
data and WordPress, editing an event or program description, resizing a web
graphic in Canva.
You do not need to be a full-time software engineer, but you must be a fearless technical problem-solver who understands how modern web platforms talk to each other.

The Core Duties:
  • Be responsible for platform sync operations - monitor and troubleshoot systems to ensure automated custom event carousel and interactive event calendar load properly, pull accurate event data and remain mobile-responsive.
  • Build out new landing pages, update text and swap banners using Elementor Pro and TheGem theme.
  • Create and edit basic written copy, format images and layout promotional content for upcoming events and programs on WordPress and Shopify sites.
  • Install, configure and update WordPress plugins to enhance website functionality.
  • Train and support OFJCC staff on program operations and troubleshooting.
  • This role requires a mix of platform management, technical troubleshooting,
    administrative precision and content creation.
The Essentials:
  • Demonstrated proficiency in managing WordPress sites and familiarity with version control systems and hosting platform workflows supported by either a verifiable credential, industry certification or related degree, relevant coursework with a published curriculum or professional experience in a comparable role
  • 3-4 years of related professional experience in a similar role; preferred
  • 3 years of strong proficiency managing WordPress sites, other platforms including Shopify and theme builders such as Elementor Pro.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 and basic JavaScript for custom styling and troubleshooting.
  • A demonstrated understanding of UI/UX and mobile-first design constraints.
  • Experience with SEO best practices for WordPress sites.
  • Experience working inside premium theme frameworks – previous experience with TheGem theme preferred.
  • Ability to read API documentation, configure webhooks and troubleshoot data sync issues between external systems such as Ticket Tailor and WordPress.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading and verbal skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to accurately manage ticket pricing, event dates and inventory numbers.
  • Previous experience working with custom functions.php scripts, custom API requests (wp_remote_get) and WordPress database transients, desired.
  • Understanding of with parsing raw JSON data payloads to independently debug complex data mismatches or sync errors, desired.
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git, desired.  
  • Familiarity with the Pantheon hosting platform workflow, including deploying changes through Dev, Stage and Live environments, desired.
  • Previous graphic design experience with Canva and/or PhotoShop.
  • Ability to problem solve, take initiative, set priorities, handle multiple projects and exercise good judgment in a fast-paced, dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
  • Demonstrated creative and innovative thinking and work output.
  • Experience creating and managing content across multiple social media channels.
  • Understanding of Google Analytics and site performance metrics.
  • Ability and desire to work independently and as a team member with the community and other employees.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends when needed.
  • Positive, upbeat and enthusiastic about working in a non-profit environment.
