  • Develops a media and communications plan and oversee plan implementation.
  • Provides marketing and education to internal and external partners on behalf of the Bureau of Regional and Clinical Operations (BRCO).
  • Manages the relationship and reporting structures between the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) Bureau of Media and Communications (BMAC) and BRCO.
  • Develops contract statements of work and budgets for the coordinated media plan.
  • Ensures all web pages and media accounts are maintained and updated including content, reporting, and functionalities.
  • Ensures the annual communication goals and projects are representative of the Office of Public Health (OPH) core values with particular focus on respect for diversity and cultural competence, innovation, and creativity.
  • Manages media and communications contracts for BRCO.
  • Manages the development of vendor relationships with BRCO to enable execution of the communications plan.
  • Collaborates with BMAC on the development of talking points related to the BRCO portfolio of work to be used for BRCO members, the Secretary of the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH), or the Assistant Secretary for OPH.
  • Collaborates with BMAC to share LDH messages, press release development, and other media activities as required.
  • Compiles routine program summary reports on media and communication activities.
  • Attends scheduled program and regional meetings.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor's degree, or Associate's degree plus 3 years of professional experience, or 6 years of professional work experience.
  • Minimum 3 years professional experience in relevant communications role.
  • Minimum 1 year professional experience in developing and implementing health communication activities.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills; effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Great attention to detail and follow up.
  • Ability to manage projects, assignments, and competing priorities.
  • Proficient in the use of Zoom, Teams, and Microsoft Office, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, and Excel.

DESIRED:
  • Advanced degree.
  • Minimum 4 years professional experience in relevant communications role.
  • Minimum 2 years professional experience in developing and implementing health communication activities.
  • Minimum 1 year professional experience writing health communication and media marketing policies.
  • Relevant industry certifications.
