POSITION SUMMARY:
The E-Commerce Web Editor is responsible for creating, proofing, editing, and optimizing written content across Menards.com and maintaining our style guide for content. The Web Editor works under the direction of the Web Merchandiser ensuring standards for written content are met and that all content is optimized for SEO and AEO. The Web Editor is responsible for ensuring content accuracy, reinforcing brand voice standards across the site, and improving SEO and AEO page ranking.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Create, edit, proofread, and publish web content while maintaining brand voice and editorial standards.
    • Including Buying Guides, SEO Text, on-site How-To Articles, and Product Enhanced Content.
  • Proof and publish website content updates.
  • Proof Private Label packaging.
  • Ensure web content is accurate, current, accessible, and optimized for user experience.
  • Proof and audit all website tagging to ensure accurate analytics.
  • Utilize AI-powered tools to enhance content creation, editing, and workflow efficiency.
  • Monitor AI-generated content for quality, accuracy, compliance, and brand consistency.
  • Analyze website performance and provide recommendations on improvements for SEO and AEO.
  • Align web content strategies with business objectives and customer needs.
  • Analytical research and categorization of best practices within core competencies to develop and maintain our ideal standards.
  • Translate business requirements into effective digital content solutions and test and prove effectiveness from analytics while iterating on strategic improvements.
  • Other duties as assigned by the E-Commerce General Manager and E-Commerce Web Merchandiser.
Skills & Requirements
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, Business, or related field is preferred.
  • Experience using AI tools for content creation, optimization, or workflow automation.
  • Understanding of SEO and AEO best practices and content strategy.
  • Proficiency with web analytics platforms
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Must be able to work both independently and on a team
  • Must be able to set priorities and hit strict deadlines
  • Must be willing to work overtime & occasional weekends
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Must be willing to relocate to Eau Claire, WI
  • Must be available to work 40 hours/week, plus overtime as needed
