Job Overview

The IT Manager, Data & Analytics will be instrumental in leading the execution of business driven and IT enabled solutions to foster organizational growth and value expansion. Working within the Komatsu Americas Corporate IT group, this role will serve as a critical partner to various business segments and business functions, enabling stakeholders to harness the power of data-driven solutions and emerging technologies while continuously evolving data literacy, data management, and data governance practices. We are seeking a leader with proven expertise in business intelligence, data analytics, master data management and master data governance, and technology innovation, combined with strong business acumen to ensure solutions enable tangible business impact.
The IT Manager, Data & Analytics owns and governs Komatsu's enterprise data and analytics platforms, including Palantir Foundry, Microsoft Power BI, Azure Synapse, and associated data engineering frameworks. This role ensures platform scalability, security, cost optimization, and business adoption while advancing enterprise data architecture standards and analytics maturity. This individual will lead a team to deliver data-driven insights and solutions that enable business growth and operational excellence. This role will collaborate with business and IT leaders across the organization to understand their needs and challenges, and to leverage data, emerging technologies, and best practices to create competitive advantages and drive business growth for Komatsu.
Key Job Responsibilities
• Develops and executes data, business intelligence, and technology innovation roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business priorities and overall data strategy.
• Manages and leads a team of data analysts, engineers, business intelligence specialists, and innovation experts to deliver high-quality, data-driven solutions, while overseeing ongoing support.
• Advises business leaders by providing strategic direction on analytics, business intelligence, and technology innovation, identifying opportunities and proposing data-driven solutions.
• Establishes and evolves data management and governance policies, standards, and procedures, ensuring data quality, security, and compliance through technical leadership.
• Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the MDM platform and framework, ensuring data consistency, integrity, and security.
• Plans, manages, and ensures the successful execution and on-time delivery of data analytics and business intelligence projects, driving business value and insights.
• Leads the strategy and execution of the technology innovation program, implementing methodologies and pilot projects to drive digital transformation and emerging value realization.
• Collaborates with business and IT stakeholders to understand data requirements, challenges, and opportunities, providing strategic guidance and best practices.
• Oversee and manage operational and project-based IT budgets, ensuring measurable value delivery.
• Continuously optimizes and manages the financials of the enterprise data platform, ensuring cost efficiency, scalability, and value realization.
• Owns and governs enterprise data and analytics platforms (Palantir, Power BI, Azure Synapse), ensuring scalability, reliability, cost efficiency, security, and business adoption.
• Engages and manages external vendors and partners for project proposals, execution, and support, ensuring accountability and financial stewardship.
• Collaborates cross-functionally with global and local business teams and IT teams, resolving dependencies, ensuring seamless project execution, and maintaining alignment with strategic objectives.
• Defines and enforces enterprise data architecture standards, including integration patterns, semantic models, data modeling standards, and DataOps best practices.
• Inspires and leads a highly engaged, collaborative team with a balanced mix of IT expertise and business acumen.
Qualifications/Requirements
• 10+ years of experience in Data & Analytics roles, with expertise in enterprise data management, MDM, and governance.
• 3+ years' experience leading data engineering, analytics, and business intelligence teams.
• Deep expertise in enterprise analytics platforms such as Palantir Foundry, Microsoft Power BI, Azure Synapse, and modern Azure data services (Data Factory, SQL, Fabric preferred).
• Expertise in MDM platforms, data governance frameworks, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong background in cloud-based data platforms (Azure Synapse, SQLDB, Power BI, Palantir, or equivalent technologies).
• Experience with ETL processes, data warehousing, and data modeling best practices.
• Drives adoption of advanced analytics, AI/ML, and automation capabilities within the enterprise data platform to enable predictive and prescriptive insights.
• Excellent stakeholder management, leadership, and strategic planning skills.
• Establishes KPIs and value measurement frameworks to ensure analytics initiatives deliver measurable business outcomes.
• Strong understanding of DevOps for data, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools.
• Travel Requirements: Up to 20%
Additional Information
Hiring Range
At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $$160,000-$170,000. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
