Location: Fort Meade Army Base - Fort Meade, Maryland
Type: Non-Exempt
Work Schedule: Full-Time
Compensation: $34.12-$34.12/hr + $3,000 sign-on bonus

Tessera is seeking an outstanding and knowledgeable Weapons Repair Specialist with a professional attitude.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
  • Efficiently repair, overhaul, and rebuild small arms for both conventional uses and for weapons involving accurization.
  • Conduct the initial inspection of small arms to determine repairs needed; disassemble, repair, and replace components on small arms as assigned.
  • Conduct operational tests, gauging, and provide trainings.
  • Perform inspection, troubleshooting, diagnose, and repair all designated supported weapons.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance checks and detailed cleaning to restore weapons to serviceable condition
  • Verify proper weapon function after repair and document all work performed..
  • Maintain a deep understanding of weapon systems, firing mechanisms, and operational safety requirements.
  • Must strictly follow all AR 190-51 procedures governing the security of arms, ammunition, and sensitive items.
  • Enforce controlled entry to the weapons repair shop; restricted access to authorized personnel only.
  • Transport weapons safely in compliance with installation policy and AR 190-51 escort, packaging, and routing rules.
  • Ensure all weapons entering the shop are cleared, verified safe, and tagged before work begins

Qualifications:
  • 5-8 years of small arms/towed artillery experience is required.
  • Must have experience in small arms, mechanical repair, armor duties, or related technical work
  • Must have a high degree of working independently.
  • Experience with using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and gauges is required.
  • Experience with inspecting and diagnosing weapon conditions is required.

Physical Requirements:
Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
