Job description

ABOUT THE JOB 
The Commercial Claims Leader will work closely with internal and external clients to provide best in class claims consulting by leading a high-performing, engaged, technically proficient, and solution-oriented team. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

Claims Function Leadership 
+ Responsible for all aspects of hiring, training, mentoring, and professional development of direct reports.   
+ Maintain a high performing, engaged, and collaborative team. 
+ Manage workloads, capacity and account assignments. 
+ Development and continuous improvement of internal claim processes and deliverables by evaluating efficiency, iterating solutions and adapting to new platforms or resources.  
+ Collaborate with internal teams to prepare and participate in RFP and new business opportunities.  

Client Delivery 
+ Advanced experience and technical expertise with a variety of coverages and policy forms.  Ability to quickly analyze and grasp policy language, identifying key and relevant terms, and ensuring proper coverage application.  Ability to use this skill to negotiate coverage claim disputes with carriers and serve as the team resource.    
+ Develop and maintain productive relationships with key Carrier staff; attend Carrier functions, promote optimum utilization of Carrier websites.  
+ Serve as dedicated Claim Consultant for key clients requiring advanced advocacy.  
+ Monitor preparation of WC Claim Kits and ensure the Claim Contacts are kept up to date for reference.   
+ Collaborate and provide recommendations in a clear and concise manner to internal customers to establish buy-in and influence client-specific strategy.
+ Establish and monitor claim resolution strategies including financial targets and reserve adequacy.   

Capability Development 
+ Provides strategic insight to develop new and iterative capabilities to influence client's loss performance and cost of risk.
+ Develops and introduces new capabilities with the Claims Department team and the overall consulting team.

+ Advocates for and allocates resources to the development and deployment of capabilities.
+ Participates in industry groups, including CIAB and Assurex, to develop and maintain industry insight.

EDUCATION 
+ Bachelor's degree preferred
+ 8-10 years of experience in multi-line Commercial Claims 
+ 1-5 years management experienceÂ
