Job description

Dinsmore is seeking a Commercial Finance Paralegal to join our Commercial Finance practice group at our Indianapolis, IN location. The ideal candidate will support multiple attorneys in a fast-paced environment handling a wide variety of commercial lending transactions, including HUD-insured (HUD) loans, conventional loans, and other complex secured lending matters.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing, reviewing, and managing documentation related to HUD and conventional loan transactions
  • Reviewing and analyzing due diligence materials including corporate documents, organizational charts, and UCC searches
  • Drafting loan closing checklists, certificates, resolutions, closing instructions, and ancillary loan documents
  • Coordinating with lenders, title companies, and opposing counsel to ensure timely and efficient closings
  • Reviewing title commitments, surveys, and exception documents, and preparing title and survey summaries
  • Reviewing corporate documents and organizational documents
  • Preparing and organizing closing binders and post-closing documentation
  • Conducting UCC filings and maintaining thorough records of all filings and documents
  • Proofreading and formatting legal documents to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Supporting attorneys with ongoing transaction management, from term sheet to closing
  • Performing legal due diligence and managing closing checklists under attorney supervision
  • Maintaining and tracking closing calendars and deliverables

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, paralegal certificate, or equivalent relevant experience
  • 5 years of experience in commercial finance or real estate transactions
  • Ability to produce high-quality, billable work with exceptional attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
