Job description

Job Title: Water Resources EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a Water Resources Engineer to support a growing portfolio of public and private infrastructure projects throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington. This position offers the opportunity to work on a broad mix of stormwater, drainage, floodplain, and surface water projects while partnering with an experienced team of engineers, planners, and project managers. The ideal candidate enjoys solving technical challenges, working directly with project teams, and contributing to projects from initial concept through design and construction support.

Responsibilities
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for a variety of infrastructure and land development projects.
  • Develop stormwater management solutions that balance regulatory requirements, site constraints, and client objectives.
  • Prepare technical reports, drainage studies, engineering calculations, and design documentation.
  • Assist with permitting coordination and agency review processes.
  • Support the development of construction plans and specifications.
  • Participate in site visits, field investigations, and construction-phase services.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
  • Manage priorities across multiple projects while maintaining quality and schedule commitments.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • EIT with the ability to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) license in the near term.
  • 4+ years of experience in water resources, drainage, stormwater, or hydraulic engineering.
  • Experience using industry-standard hydrologic and hydraulic modeling tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in both independent and team-oriented environments.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Floodplain analysis and mapping experience.
  • 2D hydraulic modeling experience.
  • Familiarity with local and state permitting processes.
  • Experience with Civil 3D, GIS platforms, and related engineering software.
  • Background in green infrastructure, stormwater treatment, and low-impact development design.
Work Environment

The work environment is in-office from 8 am to 5 pm with one hour for lunch. The office includes a gym and an outdoor working area, fostering a strong focus on culture with various outings such as game nights, karaoke, and ski nights. A laptop will be provided.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Beaverton, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.07 - $57.69/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
