Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of experience on construction sites.
  • GED/High School diploma or related work experience.
  • Trade School a plus.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
Responsibilities

Allan Myers is looking for an ambitious, hard-working pipe layers to join our elite team. Learn and grow with us. We promote from within, provide great benefits, and treat our employees like family. 

This position requires heavy physical duties on a variety of tasks which are generally either unskilled or semi-skilled in nature. Duties will vary depending on the type of work assigned to crew.

Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for laying pipe for sanitary storm sewers and water mains.
  • Assist in excavation, trenching, and backfilling activities in accordance with safety procedures.
  • Install piping - flanged ductile iron and stainless steel press-fit.
  • Set up and use of pipe lasers, knowledge of RCP & ADS storm pipe, sanitary pipe and water pipe installation.
  • Follow all site-specific and general safety protocols. Understanding of working with trench boxes. 
  • Complete installations using layout and instructions provided by Field Manager.
  • Be comfortable working at heights and within fall protection.
  • pipe cutting using abrasive blades on grinders and other pipe cutting tools, etc.
  • Communicate clearly with the operator for alignment of the pipe while using hand signals to endure the proper depth.
  • Guide laborers on crew by showing proper tools to use, length of pipe and how to properly cut pipe.
  • Lifts, carries, and holds building materials, tools, and supplies. 
  • Cleans tools, materials, and work areas.
