Job description:

FG Construction, LLC is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator with a strong underground utility / pipe background to join our heavy civil team. This role supports storm drainage, sanitary sewer, and water utility installations across active job sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate excavators for storm, sanitary, and water pipe installation
  • Excavate trenches to required line, grade, and depth
  • Work closely with pipe crews to ensure accurate installation
  • Perform fine grading and trenching around existing utilities
  • Load trucks and handle materials as needed
  • Complete daily equipment inspections and report maintenance issues
  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA standards
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of excavator operating experience
  • Pipe / underground utilities experience required
  • Experience with storm drain, sanitary sewer, and/or water main systems
  • Ability to read construction plans and understand grades/elevations
  • Strong knowledge of trench safety and utility work
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Reliable transportation and strong attendance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Heavy civil or roadway construction experience
  • GPS or grade control experience
  • CDL (a plus, not required)
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
