Job description

Job Summary:
The Water Superintendent oversees the City's water production and water distribution systems, including wells, storage facilities, treatment processes, water quality monitoring, line maintenance, and regulatory compliance. This position provides high-level management, planning, and budgeting while also participating in hands-on field operations as needed. Work is performed under general direction with broad discretion in determining methods, procedures, and priorities. Supervises water operations crews and plant operations staff. Performs related duties as required. Reports to the Director of Public Services.
Minimum Qualifications:
Requires a high school diploma or GED supplemented by up to five years of previous experience in water and wastewater maintenance and/or heavy equipment operations, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered.
Special Requirements
โ€ข TCEQ Grade B Groundwater Operator Certification required.
โ€ข TCEQ Class III Collections or Class B Wastewater Operator Certification preferred.
โ€ข Valid state driver's license required.
