Water Operations Supervisor- Utility Operations


Location: Apache Junction, AZ

Job Type: Full-Time

Salary: $100,000 – $135,000 per year, depending on experience


This role will support the General Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of a water utility division. This position provides leadership across water distribution, construction, safety, customer service, personnel, and regulatory compliance.

You will work closely with employees, contractors, customers, government agencies, and other utility professionals to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.


What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is a strong utility operations leader who understands water systems, can manage people and projects, and is comfortable working with contractors, customers, and regulatory agencies.


If you have experience as a Utility Supervisor, Water Operations Supervisor, Distribution Superintendent, Public Works Supervisor, or similar utility leadership role, we encourage you to apply.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the overall management of water utility operations.
  • Oversee and coordinate construction and maintenance projects.
  • Supervise and support employees, including training and personnel matters.
  • Coordinate with contractors, municipalities, utilities, suppliers, and regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, ADEQ, and company safety requirements.
  • Oversee water quality testing and operational requirements.
  • Assist with budgets, purchasing, inventory, and material planning.
  • Review construction work and ensure compliance with company specifications.
  • Assist with customer service issues and service-related matters.
  • Step in for the General Manager or Superintendents when needed.


Qualifications


  • Arizona ADEQ Water Distribution and Water Treatment Operator certification a must.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of utility operations experience or comparable experience.
  • Strong knowledge of water distribution and water treatment operations.
  • Experience with utility construction and reading construction drawings.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and basic computer applications.
  • Valid AZ driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work both in an office and field environment, including outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 40 pounds.
