Position Summary

The Water Operations Manager directs 24/7 ultra-pure water (UPW) and industrial wastewater treatment (IWT) production, managing daily plant output, driving shift performance, and ensuring absolute safety and environmental compliance for semiconductor manufacturing.
This role oversees daily plant activities, coordinates shift handoffs, and monitors realtime waterpurity metrics while working with engineering to optimize processes and with maintenance to schedule preventive repairs without impacting fab uptime. This position also enforce strict EHS policies, manage chemicalhandling protocols, and ensure continuous compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The Water Operations Manager ensures rapid resolution of SCADA/HMI alarms to maintain uptime, enforces accurate SOPs and shift logs, and cultivates a highperformance, safetyfirst culture among operations technicians.

Role and Responsibilities

  • 24/7ShiftExecution&StaffManagement:Directdailyactivitiesofplantoperatorsandshifttechnicians,ensuringcontinuous,high-puritywaterdeliveryandzerofabinterruptions.
  • Cross-TeamCoordination:Leaddailyoperations,maintenance,andengineering(OPS/MX/ENG)alignmentmeetingstoprioritizeworkandresolveplantexcursions.
  • Safety&RegulatoryCompliance:Enforcestrictenvironmentalhealthandsafety(EHS)protocolsandlocal/state/federalregulatorystandardsforchemicalhandlingandwastewaterdischarge.
  • SystemMonitoring&QualityControl:Trackreal-timewaterqualityparameters,reviewperformancetrendsviaSCADA/HMI,andmanageimmediateresponsetosystemalarms.
  • SOP&WorkforceDevelopment:Overseestandardoperatingprocedures(SOPs),driveoperatorshifttraining,andconductongoingperformancemanagement.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Education:Bachelor'sdegreeinChemical,Mechanical,EnvironmentalEngineering,orarelatedtechnicaldiscipline.

  • Experience:10+yearsofprogressiveexperienceinwater/wastewateroperationsorheavyindustrial/processenvironments,withspecificsemiconductorfabexperiencestronglypreferred.

  • TechnicalKnowledge:Deepunderstandingofwatertreatmentprocesses(RO,CEDI,UF,UV,ionexchange,andbiological/chemicalwastewatertreatment).

  • SystemsProficiency:FamiliaritywithSCADA,HMIcontrols,andreadingP&IDs(PipingandInstrumentationDiagrams).

  • Compliance&Safety:StronggraspofOSHA,EHSguidelines,andenvironmentaldischargepermits.

The current base salary range for this role is between $147,000 - $200,500. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
