Responsibilities


Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Support major projects involving the planning, design, and startup of water and wastewater treatment systems with a focus on process, pump stations, large diameter pipelines, biosolids, and odor control systems. 
  • Lead project teams to complete projects to exceed client expectations for approach, scope, budget and schedule.  
  • Demonstrate technical excellence in the performance of project assignments including planning, design and preparation of bid documents, project management, regulatory coordination, and construction services.  
  • Assemble and present written recommendations on technical matters and prepare reports. 
  • Inspect, test and evaluate collection, conveyance, distribution, and treatment systems and processes. 
  • Manage multiple technical assignments while participating in or leading project teams to complete projects to exceed client expectations for approach, scope, budget and schedule.  
  • Develop and maintain client relationships, understanding their current and future needs to ensure expectations are met. 
  • Participate in business development pursuits, identifying opportunities and preparing proposals to meet the office's growth goals.


Requirements

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering
  • 6 or more years of experience in water and wastewater consulting field
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Registration as Professional Engineer
  • Prior experience in water and wastewater pipeline, pump station, and treatment facility design, rehabilitation, and construction
  • Prior experience in process equipment selection, design and startup for pump stations, treatment plants and biosolids processing facilities. 
  • Ability to prepare reports; evaluate pipelines, pump stations and/or treatment plants; and prepare design documents
  • Familiar with environmental rules and regulations in the water and wastewater field
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and computer modeling for water systems, open channel flow, and sanitary/storm water systems and other computer applications
  • Curiosity and interest in continuous learning in AI and comfort experimenting and iterating quickly; uses data to validate ideas and measure impact.
  • Commitment to ethical and responsible AI adoption, including privacy-by-design and safe use of tools.
