Director of AI & Business Solutions

Blue Water Hospitality Group, LLC

Job description

Blue Water Hospitality is a growing organization that is always looking for enthusiastic team members to join its journey!
Since its establishment in 2002, Blue Water has rapidly become a leader in the hospitality industry. We invest, develop, and manage RV resorts, campgrounds, hotels, and attractions. We have a range of accommodations, from cozy campsites to water parks to lavish hotel suites, and we pride ourselves on creating exceptional guest experiences.
If you share our passion for providing memorable guest experiences, we invite you to "Dive into Blue Water" and join our growing team!
LOCATION: Ocean City, MD (on-site / hybrid, with periodic property travel
INTRODUCTION TO ROLE:

Own the build of Blue Water's AI-native operating platform - the engine behind management-company profitability.
This is not a traditional product manager who writes the spec and runs the standup, and it is not an engineer who disappears into code. We are hiring a builder who embeds - someone who sits inside our revenue management, marketing, operations, and finance teams, finds where the leverage is, and actually builds. You take a real process and break it into what a person should still own and what an agent can own, then build it well enough to prove it is worth scaling - not gather requirements and hand them off.
Once it works, you translate what you found into a clean technical scope a contracted engineer can take and scale - which frees you to move to the next operating area that needs discovery. AI has collapsed the distance between an idea and the working thing, and the people who matter most now do both sides: discovery and build. You will be a core member of our AI Task Force, reporting to the SVP of Capital Investments. Your charge is simple to state and hard to do: move Blue Water's work from human-run to system-run - faster, more accurate, and more efficient - and turn that into measurable operating leverage across the portfolio.
Benefits eligibility:
  • Full-time roles are eligible for Health benefits, 401K, and property discounts

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
  • Proven experience with marketing strategy execution
  • Strong leadership capability to motivate, develop, and coach creative and diverse teams.
  • Strong aesthetic and eye for design
  • Proven ability to work cohesively with multifunctional teams, internal members, and external vendors/consultants.
  • Analytical mindset: the ability to translate data into making decisions.
  • Strong communication skills, written, verbal, and visual.
  • Strong project management skills
  • Can operate successfully amid ambiguity, complexity, and change.
  • Strong business acumen
  • Maintains a high degree of confidentiality.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON:
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform and assign the essential functions outlined below.
  • Build the small wins yourself. Stand up automations, prompts, and lightweight tools end-to-end, and get them working well enough to prove the win is real. You roll up your sleeves before you scale through others.
  • Scope the big builds for others to scale. Once a build proves out, translate it into a clean technical scope and budget, then direct contracted engineering and database specialists to scale it into production - staying close enough to hold quality and spend in line.
  • Own the project portfolio. Run intake, prioritization, sequencing, and delivery for the AI Task Force - and bring the discipline that gets pilots all the way to production, not stuck in proof-of-concept.
  • Drive adoption. Translate real operator pain into usable tools, and bring skeptical, distributed teams along through demonstrated value - not mandate.
  • Govern build-vs-contract. Decide what we own in-house versus what we contract by the project, select and manage vendors, and keep spending disciplined.
  • Attack variance. Use standardized, AI-audited workflows to reduce performance inconsistency across the portfolio - the single largest operational risk we manage.
  • Measure and report. Track throughput, cycle time, automation hours saved, and NOI impact, and report progress to the AI Task Force and leadership.

Year-One Outcomes
  • Current-state workflow maps and a prioritized backlog for revenue management, owner reporting, marketing cadence, and guest communications.
  • A handful of automations shipped to production with documented time savings and an owner for each.
  • At least one larger initiative is scoped, budgeted, staffed (in-house + contracted), and underway.
  • A working AI Task Force cadence with a governed project portfolio and a clear build-vs-contract framework.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH:
The Director of AI & Business Solutions reports to the SVP of Capital Investments
WHAT YOU BRING:
  • An innovation or business-solutions background. You have held a role with "innovation" or "business solutions" in the title, or worked on a team where shipping working pilots - not slide decks - was the job.
  • You have personally carried ideas from whiteboard to working tool, and you know what it takes to get one past the pilot stage. We weigh this as heavily as AI experience.
  • 7+ years of professional experience, with 3+ years of building with AI, automation, or digital transformation - a track record of delivering into production with measurable business value, and pilots that reached production rather than stalling.
  • Strong process and workflow mapping ability. You can dissect how work flows and pinpoint where technology removes friction.
  • Strong project management skills. You scope, budget, sequence, and drive multiple initiatives from intake to delivery.
  • Genuine hands-on technical depth. Working fluency across automation, coding, databases, AI harnessing, and context engineering - deep enough to self-perform smaller projects and to credibly scope, judge, and direct specialists on the larger ones.
  • LLM fluency. Practical, hands-on experience with modern AI tools (e.g., Anthropic Claude, OpenAI) and agentic workflows - you can speak to what you've personally built, how you deployed it, and what broke.
  • Executive and operator communication. You explain technical trade-offs to leadership and earn trust with field teams.
  • Bias toward outcomes over credentials. We value what you've built over where you went to school.

Nice to Have
  • Experience in hospitality, property management, real estate, or PE-backed operations.
  • Hands-on workflow automation (Zapier, Make, n8n, Microsoft Power Automate) and scripting (Python, SQL).
  • Familiarity with the modern data stack (e.g., Snowflake, dbt) - fluent enough to integrate, not necessarily a specialist.
  • RPA background (UiPath, Power Automate) and/or agentic / multi-agent system experience.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project-management credential.

ARE YOU A FIT:
Blue Water is direct, fast-moving, and family-owned. We give real ownership and expect real results. This role sits close to the capital and the strategy - what you build is central to how we drive the management company to profitability and how we underwrite and operate the assets we acquire. If you have spent the last few years inside a big company running pilots that never scaled, this is where they ship. If you want a mandate to build something that matters and the autonomy to ship it, this is that seat.
Ready to make waves with us? Apply today and let's create unforgettable experiences together!
Blue Water is raising the standard of excellence and innovation in real estate development and hospitality with every entity brought on board.
Blue Water Development Corporation is committed to the principles of equal employment opportunity and is committed to making employment decisions based on merit. We are committed to complying with all Federal, State, and local laws providing for equal employment opportunities and all laws related to terms and conditions of employment.
