Position Summary

The Industrial Water Systems Technician is responsible for installing, commissioning, servicing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining commercial and industrial water treatment equipment.

This individual will work independently with customers, solve complex mechanical and electrical problems, mentor junior technicians, and help establish the operational excellence that defines RODI Water.

This position offers a clear career path into Lead Technician, Field Supervisor, or Operations Management.

ResponsibilitiesInstallation
  • Install reverse osmosis (RO) systems

  • Install deionization (DI) systems

  • Install high-purity and ultrapure water systems

  • Install water softeners and filtration equipment

  • Install UV disinfection systems

  • Install pumps, pressure tanks, storage tanks, piping, valves, and controls

  • Commission newly installed systems

  • Verify system performance and water quality

Service & Maintenance
  • Perform preventative maintenance on customer equipment

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and control system failures

  • Troubleshoot pumps, motors, sensors, instrumentation, and control systems

  • Replace membranes, filters, UV lamps, media, valves, and pumps

  • Respond to emergency service calls

  • Complete detailed electronic service reports

  • Maintain excellent customer communication throughout each project

Leadership
  • Mentor junior technicians

  • Assist in developing installation standards and best practices

  • Recommend process improvements

  • Maintain a safe and professional work environment

  • Represent RODI Water with professionalism and integrity

Preferred Experience

Experience in one or more of the following:

  • Industrial water treatment

  • High-purity water systems

  • Reverse osmosis systems

  • Deionization systems

  • Process piping

  • Commercial plumbing

  • Industrial mechanical systems

  • Pharmaceutical or laboratory equipment

  • HVAC service

  • Boiler systems

  • Pumps and pump controls

  • Industrial maintenance

  • Water quality systems

  • Controls and instrumentation

Candidates with strong industrial mechanical backgrounds who are eager to learn water treatment are encouraged to apply.

Desired Qualifications
  • Strong mechanical aptitude

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to read piping drawings and equipment layouts

  • Basic electrical troubleshooting experience (24V–480V preferred)

  • Experience with PVC, CPVC, copper, stainless steel, and process piping

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Strong organizational abilities

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently

  • Clean driving record

Education & Certifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds

  • Ability to work on ladders and lifts

  • Comfortable working in mechanical rooms, industrial facilities, laboratories, hospitals, and manufacturing environments

  • Willingness to travel throughout New England

  • Occasional overnight travel

  • Valid driver's license
