JOB TITLE: Warehouse Technician
REPORTS TO: Warehouse Manager
DEPARTMENT: Warehouse
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt, Full Time
JOB SUMMARY:
The Warehouse Technician supports the Warehouse Manager by taking directions on daily priorities. This role is responsible for organizing workloads, assigning and balancing tasks, monitoring workflow, and ensuring processes are completed accurately, efficiently, and safely. The Warehouse Technician is responsible for operating forklifts and moving goods around warehouses and other industrial sites. Technicians are required to operate warehouse machinery in line with health and safety regulations and to ensure that all goods that are moved are loaded and unloaded without damage to goods, facilities and vehicles. Documentation accuracy while recording lot numbers, quantities and dates daily is an important part of this position.
Requirements
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILIITIES:
1. Maneuver forklifts safely in busy industrial environments.
2. Safely stack and unstack large quantities of goods into racks or pallets.
3. Move goods from storage areas to loading areas for transport.
4. Unload deliveries and safely relocate the goods to their designated storage areas.
5. Ensure that forklift driving areas are free from spills or obstructions.
6. Regularly check forklift equipment for faults or damages.
7. Use industrial plastic wraps and wooden pallets to safely stack and package goods for transport.
8. Accurately record lot numbers, dates and quantities on warehouse maps, bags, tags, or labels.
9. Monitor the receipt of bulk loads of excipients and coordinate load sampling with Quality Control
10. Receive, ship, and transfer material/product within Pharmgate's inventory software.
11. Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, FDA, cGMPs organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and best practices.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
1. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
2. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
3. Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with all levels of personnel.
4. Ability to itemize and record stock for inventories.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to read and understand instructions and materials in English; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
6. Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
7. Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite, virtual meeting applications, SAP Business One, or other related software.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1. At least 7-10 years of experience directly working in a warehouse
2. Valid forklift operator certification or willingness to obtain one
3. 5-7 years experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting
4. Knowledge of warehouse operations and procedures
5. Familiarity with OSHA regulations regarding forklift operation
6. Strong attention to detail and accuracy
7. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet productivity goals
8. Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must be able to complete various activities in the warehouse that may require hours of lifting, standing, and carrying.
2. Periods of sitting at a desk working on computers.
3. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
4. Visual acuity to inspect products and machinery.
5. Ability to occasionally climb stairs.
