Position Summary

The Distribution Center Safety Manager is responsible for creating and maintaining a safe work environment within the distribution center. This role partners with the DC Director and leadership team to reduce workplace injuries, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and promote a strong safety-first culture. The Safety Manager leads health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and serves as the site's safety expert.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote a proactive safety culture and injury prevention programs.
  • Implement and oversee HSE policies, procedures, and training programs.
  • Conduct safety audits, hazard assessments, and workplace inspections.
  • Lead behavior-based safety initiatives and provide coaching to leaders and employees.
  • Facilitate Gemba walks, Kaizen events, and Safety Task Force meetings.
  • Manage forklift/powered industrial truck training and certification programs.
  • Monitor safety metrics (KPIs) and develop improvement plans.
  • Investigate incidents and injuries, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead pre-shift stretching and warm-up programs.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Serve as the primary contact for regulatory agencies and partner with Corporate HSE and Legal teams.
  • Lead safety and compliance projects from planning through completion.
  • Support site leadership with safety strategies and continuous improvement efforts.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of safety leadership experience in a warehouse, distribution center, or similar environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • ASP or CSP certification.
  • CPR, AED, and First Aid certification.
  • DOT and driver safety experience.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification (Yellow Belt or higher).

The typical pay range for this role is:

$66,330.00 - $145,860.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
