JOB OVERVIEW: The Warehouse Team Lead will assist the Warehouse Supervisor with managing and overseeing all the functions of the warehouse, warehouse associates, and ensuring smooth operations of all activities. Additionally, this position is an individual contributor role where the incumbent will be responsible for physically moving/processing products in addition to leading the team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the shipping department and ensure the functions are used correctly.
  • Delegate and assign work as necessary.
  • Conduct necessary training within department.
  • Ensure the proper use and accountability of tools.
  • Ensure hours and functions are recorded correctly (e.g. time clocks).
  • Answer email/verbal questions in a timely manner.
  • Keep product moving and oversee the cleanliness of the department. This includes daily trash compacting.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:

Proven experience as warehouse employee in shipping, receiving and/or order picking or similar position. Supervisory experience preferred but will consider other relevant experience.

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

High school diploma; Higher degree from a technical school will be appreciated.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Leadership and motivational skills, and the ability to make decisions with little to no guidance based on policies or common sense
  • Experience with more than one department within the warehouse; work areas include: receiving, inventory control, pick, pack, ship and return of product
  • Experience with composing and replying to emails
  • Power Equipment experience – Must be able to operate or willing to be trained on Powered Industrial Truck Operations
  • 2+ years working experience in an operations capacity
  • Must have excellent attendance
  • Working understanding of WMS system
  • Must be comfortable repeatedly lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted and maneuvering product with equipment, minimizing damaging product
  • Able to read and comprehend English to ensure your safety and the safety of those working around you

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is generally performed in a warehouse environment. The noise level is moderate. Generally, well ventilated, and well lit. Warehouse team members may be required to wear protective clothing. Additionally, may operate heavy equipment and strict safety regulations may be required.

PHYSICAL EFFORT:

Work is physically strenuous and team members are required to lift heavy packages up to 50 pounds. Work may require excessive bending or stooping. Team members may be required to climb ladders, use hand tools, and/or use heavy machinery (e.g., forklift, etc.). The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Light duty options may be available.
