Job description

Warehouse Operations Lead Position Summary
The Warehouse Operations Lead is responsible for assisting in the coordination and supervision of daily warehouse activities. Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, this role ensures work assignments are carried out efficiently, safely, and in alignment with company service and cost objectives.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Work closely with shift leadership to achieve daily operational goals.
  • Warehouse Processes — Oversee and coordinate receiving, put-away, picking, and loading activities.
  • Work Assignments — Direct daily tasks and responsibilities to warehouse employees.
  • Provide hands-on support with material handling and forklift operations.
  • Drive compliance with safety, quality, and productivity standards.
  • Brainstorm and recommend process improvements to the Operations Supervisor.
  • Communicate professionally—both verbally and in writing—with internal and external partners.
  • Identify issues and collaborate with management to develop solutions.
  • Ensure safe and efficient operation of all material handling equipment.
  • Train new and existing employees on SOPs and Work Instructions.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and orderly warehouse environment, including inventory rotation, labeling, sweeping, and staging orders for delivery.
  • Ensure all products are stored safely and in designated areas.
  • Assist in maintaining warehouse security.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by warehouse leadership.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to manage changing priorities and exercise sound judgment under pressure.
  • Strong visual acuity for shipment inspection.
  • Ability to input data and generate daily inventory reports.
  • Accuracy in recordkeeping, sorting, checking, counting, and verifying received items.
  • Strong time management, organizational, planning, and self-motivation skills.
  • Experience with—or willingness to learn—Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
  • High attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Previous experience operating sit-down, stand-up, and reach forklifts.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for 10–12 hours.
  • Ability to lift or pull 50 lbs without restriction.
  • Frequent bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching above and below waist level.
  • Ability to walk long distances within a distribution center (facilities may exceed ¼ mile in length).
  • Ability to work in environments with variable noise levels, lighting, and temperature.
  • Must be able to access all areas of the building without limitations.
  • Availability to work irregular or extended hours, including nights and weekends.
