Job description

Position Overview

The Driver/General Warehouse Associate supports daily warehouse and delivery operations by performing a combination of receiving, inventory management, order fulfillment, loading, deliveries, pickups, and customer service. This role is responsible for ensuring products are received, stored, picked, staged, transported, and delivered accurately, safely, and on time.

The position requires strong attention to detail, dependability, and the ability to work both independently in the field and collaboratively within a warehouse environment. This individual plays a direct role in maintaining inventory accuracy, order quality, customer satisfaction, and on-time delivery.

Responsibilites
Core Responsibilities Warehouse Operations & Order Fulfillment
  • Pick full-pallet and carton-level customer orders accurately using pick tickets and established picking procedures.
  • Verify correct SKUs and quantities before staging orders for shipment or delivery.
  • Stage completed orders in designated outbound areas according to delivery and shipping schedules.
  • Assist with receiving inbound shipments, including unloading trailers and containers.
  • Put away received inventory into assigned warehouse locations and maintain clean, organized, and properly labeled storage areas.
  • Verify products against packing slips and report shortages, damages, or discrepancies promptly.
  • Assist with inventory transfers, consolidation, cycle counts, and maintaining accurate inventory locations.
Delivery & Pickup Operations
  • Complete assigned customer deliveries and pickups safely, professionally, and on schedule.
  • Check in with the Operations Supervisor to confirm daily deliveries, pickups, and any schedule changes.
  • Confirm all orders are correct and complete before loading, including verifying products, quantities, and destinations.
  • Plan efficient delivery routes based on stop locations, delivery windows, traffic, and customer requirements.
  • Meet customer delivery windows and communicate proactively regarding delays or scheduling concerns.
  • Handle customer pickups and returns, ensuring products and required documentation are returned and properly staged at the warehouse.
  • Obtain required proof of delivery, including customer signatures when necessary.
Loading, Equipment & Safety
  • Load and organize delivery vehicles efficiently based on route sequencing and customer requirements.
  • Secure all loads to prevent shifting, tipping, damage, or loss during transportation.
  • Complete pre-shift and pre-trip inspections of warehouse equipment and delivery vehicles.
  • Operate forklifts, order pickers, and other warehouse equipment safely after receiving appropriate certification.
  • Operate delivery vehicles safely and lawfully while following traffic laws and practicing defensive driving.
  • Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures.
  • Maintain awareness of pedestrian traffic, forklift activity, and other workplace safety concerns.
  • Report equipment damage, vehicle maintenance issues, or unsafe working conditions immediately.
  • Do not operate equipment or vehicles that are unsafe.
Customer Service & Communication
  • Represent the company professionally during customer deliveries and pickups.
  • Maintain clear and proactive communication with supervisors, dispatch, warehouse personnel, and customers.
  • Ensure all delivery and warehouse documentation is completed accurately and on time.
  • Support overall customer satisfaction through accurate orders, reliable deliveries, and professional service.
