Job description

CarParts.com (formerly US Auto Parts and JC Whitney) is seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist with Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) / Cherry Picker experience to support inventory accuracy and warehouse operations within our fulfillment center. This role combines hands-on inventory control responsibilities with safe and efficient PIT operation in a fast-paced distribution environment.
We believe in work/life balance and offer multiple full-time shift options, including weekday, night, and weekend schedules (shift availability and differentials may vary by location).

What You Will Do

As an Inventory Control Specialist, you will play a critical role in maintaining inventory accuracy while actively operating PIT equipment as required.

Inventory Control & Quality

  • Perform cycle counts (digital and physical) to maintain inventory accuracy
  • Audit inventory management processes and identify discrepancies
  • Research, correct, and document inventory variances in the WMS
  • Maintain accurate SKU records for incoming and outgoing inventory
  • Prepare and provide inventory reports to the Inventory Control Manager (ICM)
  • Maintain inventory thresholds within the Warehouse Management System (WMS)
  • Ensure accurate bin placement, labeling, and location codes
  • Dispose of obsolete inventory as directed
  • Oversee and process all RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) transactions
  • Oversee and process all RTV (Return to Vendor) transactions

PIT Operation & Warehouse Support

  • Safely operate cherry pickers, stock pickers, and other PIT equipment in compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations
  • Complete required PIT equipment checklists prior to operation
  • Inspect and properly use safety harnesses and lanyards
  • Transport pallets to designated staging or storage locations
  • Assist with packing or other fulfillment tasks as business needs require
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Meet or exceed productivity, quality, and safety standards
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

  • Required: Ability to safely operate cherry pickers/stock pickers (PIT certification or ability to become certified)
  • Prior warehouse, fulfillment, inventory control, or quality control experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and safety
  • Intermediate verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
  • Goal-oriented with the ability to meet productivity expectations
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively
  • Willingness to work extended hours or overtime as business needs require
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area
