Description:

About VP Supply Corp

VP Supply Corp is a leading distributor of plumbing, HVAC, industrial, and electrical supplies. With 60 years of experience and multiple locations, we are committed to providing exceptional service and quality products to our customers.

Our high-volume CDC will be the backbone of product movement within our 15-branch network, consolidating inventory replenishment, accelerating product flow, and driving operational efficiency. The top priority will be to ensure product moves accurately and efficiently out to and between the branches. The CDC will support high throughput, consistent product availability and reliable delivery, thereby reducing friction in the supply chain, and allowing our branches to provide outstanding customer service.

The CDC will operate from 6a to 9p six days a week. We are building a team 15+ employees where everyone connects with the top priority of serving our branches, and commits to understanding and meeting the Key Performance Indicators, following detailed processes, and contributing to a high performing, safety-conscious environment.

Position Summary

As a Central Distribution Center (CDC) Inventory Lead at VP Supply Corp, you lead daily inventory control and warehouse execution to keep product flowing accurately from receiving to storage and replenishment in a fast-paced, mechanized, WMS/RF-driven CDC. You coordinate cycle counts, putaways, location accuracy, and root-cause resolution for inventory variances while coaching associates on standard work, safety, and scan discipline. You partner with Operations, Purchasing, and Shipping to prioritize work, prevent stockouts, and support timely order fulfillment. Performance is measured through KPIs including inventory accuracy, receiving/putaways accuracy, dock-to-stock time, cycle count completion and variance rate, scan compliance, and fill rate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily inventory control work: cycle counts, bin audits, recounts, and system adjustments to keep locations accurate
  • Investigate variances by checking product, labels, locations, and transactions; correct errors and document root cause to protect inventory accuracy
  • Onboarding, continued training and accountability for the entire inventory control warehouse team
  • Work receiving and putaways: verify counts/part numbers, confirm damage status, scan moves, and push product to stock to hit dock-to-stock targets
  • Use RF/WMS tools to complete transfers, receipts, replenishments, and research; fix bad locations and missing scans to maintain scan compliance
  • Maintain locations hands-on: relabel bins, repair/replace damaged labels, validate slot dimensions, and keep bin integrity to support pick accuracy and speed
  • Train side-by-side on the floor: demonstrate standard work, safe equipment use, and correct scanning habits
  • Pull and review daily KPI results (accuracy, cycle counts, dock-to-stock, fill rate); follow up on misses and reassign work as needed
  • Work directly with Operations, Purchasing, and Shipping to clear shortages/damages: verify physical product, check POs/receipts, and correct inventory status
  • Keep work areas clean and safe: remove debris, stage product correctly, and reinforce policy compliance on the floor
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2-5 years of experience in a warehouse or distribution environment required
  • Operational management required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the required shift
  • Basic math and reading comprehension skills required. Bill of Lading, Purchase Order processing and Sales Order reading and competency preferred
  • Computer Skills required
  • Customer Service skills preferred
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Strong, fast-paced work ethic and reliability
  • Forklift and pallet jack and other Warehouse equipment training required. Prior history of certification preferred
  • Familiarity with RF scanning equipment is a plus
