How much do warehouse intern jobs pay per hour?

As of Jun 20, 2026, the average hourly pay for warehouse intern in the United States is $17.04, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $14.42 and $19.23 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What are the big 4 internships?

The Big 4 internships refer to internship programs offered by Deloitte, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Ernst & Young (EY), and KPMG. These firms provide internship opportunities in areas such as audit, consulting, tax, and advisory, often serving as a pathway to full-time employment in the accounting and professional services industries.

Is $30 an hour good for an intern?

For a warehouse intern, $30 an hour is considered above average, as typical internships in this field often pay between minimum wage and $15-$20 per hour. Higher pay may reflect specialized skills, certifications, or a competitive market, but it is uncommon for interns to earn this rate without additional qualifications. Internships generally focus on gaining experience rather than high pay, so this rate is notably favorable for an entry-level position.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Warehouse Intern, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Warehouse Intern, you need basic inventory management knowledge, attention to detail, and a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanners, and safety protocols is often required. Strong teamwork, communication, and time management skills help you adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment. These skills ensure efficient workflow, safety, and accurate handling of goods within the warehouse.

Warehouse Interns typically are students or entry-level individuals gaining experience, often in a temporary capacity, while Warehouse Associates are full-time employees responsible for daily warehouse operations. Both roles share similar environments and industry usage, but differ mainly in experience level and employment status.

What does a Warehouse Intern do?

A Warehouse Intern assists with daily operations in a warehouse, such as receiving, storing, and distributing goods. Typical responsibilities include inventory management, order picking, packing shipments, and helping maintain a clean and organized workspace. Interns may also learn to operate warehouse equipment and use inventory software. This role provides hands-on experience and insight into supply chain and logistics operations.

Is a 3.4 GPA good for internships?

For a warehouse intern position, a 3.4 GPA is generally considered acceptable, especially if combined with relevant skills such as organization, physical stamina, and basic computer knowledge. Many employers prioritize work ethic and reliability over GPA, but a higher GPA can strengthen your application. Practical experience and a positive attitude are also important factors in securing an internship.

What types of projects or responsibilities can a Warehouse Intern expect during their internship?

As a Warehouse Intern, you can expect to be involved in a variety of hands-on tasks such as inventory management, order picking and packing, and assisting with shipping and receiving. You'll often collaborate with warehouse supervisors and team members to streamline operations, maintain organization, and ensure timely order fulfillment. Many internships also provide exposure to warehouse management systems (WMS) and may offer opportunities to participate in process improvement projects. This practical experience helps you develop essential skills in logistics and teamwork, preparing you for advanced roles in supply chain operations.

What is a warehouse intern?

A warehouse intern is a temporary position where individuals assist with daily warehouse operations such as inventory management, packing, and shipping. The role often involves learning about warehouse procedures, using tools like forklifts or inventory software, and working under supervision to gain industry experience.
