Job Summary
We are representing a global freight forwarding company in North Houston that is seeking an experienced Warehouse Checker to join their growing team. The Warehouse Checker is responsible for inspecting inbound and outbound freight, verifying cargo against shipping documentation, and ensuring accurate inventory control throughout the loading and unloading process. The ideal candidate will have warehouse and freight forwarding experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with C2C warehouse management software is highly preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Verify inbound and outbound shipments against bills of lading, packing lists, manifests, and other shipping documents.
  • Inspect cargo for accuracy, shortages, overages, and damages.
  • Track and document cargo movement throughout receiving, storage, loading, and shipping operations.
  • Ensure freight is properly labeled, marked, and staged for shipment.
  • Maintain accurate records and update warehouse management systems as required.
  • Coordinate with warehouse personnel, drivers, and operations staff to ensure timely movement of freight.
  • Conduct inventory counts and assist with cycle counts as needed.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently (certification preferred).
  • Report discrepancies, damages, and safety concerns to management promptly.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and warehouse operating guidelines.
  • Assist with general warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum 1-2 years of warehouse checking, shipping/receiving, freight forwarding, or logistics experience.
Experience verifying freight and shipping documentation.
Knowledge of cargo handling and warehouse operations.
Experience with C2C software is highly preferred.
Forklift experience required; certification preferred.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Basic computer skills and data entry experience.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a warehouse environment.
