SUMMARY


At Hatteras, our Account Managers are trusted advisors to our clients and the central hub of every project. They serve as the voice of the customer internally while partnering across estimating, production, purchasing, logistics, and sales to ensure every project is delivered accurately, on time, and with an exceptional customer experience.


This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys managing multiple priorities, and takes pride in building lasting client relationships through proactive communication and outstanding service.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Client Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for assigned customer accounts.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships through responsive communication and exceptional service.
  • Understand customer goals and provide consultative solutions that add value.
  • Anticipate customer needs and proactively resolve issues before they impact the client experience.
  • Partner with the Sales team to identify opportunities for growth while ensuring exceptional execution of existing business.

Project Management

  • Own projects from estimate through final delivery.
  • Coordinate schedules, specifications, proofs, production milestones, shipping requirements, and billing activities.
  • Manage customer expectations by providing timely updates throughout each project.
  • Manage customer approvals, revisions, change orders, and project communications.
  • Coordinate prototypes, variable data, mailing projects, fulfillment, warehousing, and specialized customer requirements as needed.

Project Execution

  • Serve as the central point of communication between customers and internal departments.
  • Partner with Estimating, Production, Purchasing, Prepress, Warehouse, Logistics, Accounting, and Sales to ensure successful project execution.
  • Clearly communicate customer expectations and project requirements to internal teams.
  • Own the approval process from initiation through completion.
  • Proactively identify, communicate, and resolve issues while maintaining ownership through final resolution.
  • Coordinate customer visits, press approvals, and other project-related meetings as needed.

Quality & Accuracy

  • Maintain accurate customer information and project documentation.
  • Ensure all customer requirements and project specifications are complete and accurate before advancing to the next stage.
  • Review project details to ensure quality, accuracy, and readiness throughout the production process.
  • Execute established workflows while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and enhance the customer experience.
  • Complete all required documentation, reporting, and customer deliverables accurately and on time.

Requirements

 REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years of experience in Account Management, Customer Service, Project Management, or a related client-facing role.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

PREFERRED

  • Experience within the commercial print, packaging, marketing services, fulfillment, or manufacturing industry.
  • Experience working with ERP, MIS, CRM, or project management systems.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
