Job description

Location: Nationwide (project-based)
Travel: Frequent travel; home every other weekend

Novak Construction is a Chicago-based national general contractor specializing in complex projects across retail, healthcare, industrial, and cold storage sectors. We are known for quality, safety, and strong client partnerships.
We're seeking an experienced Traveling Superintendent to lead Walmart remodels and ground-up construction projects across the country.
Responsibilities
  • Lead all on-site construction activities
  • Manage large crews (100+ personnel) and subcontractors
  • Create and maintain project schedules
  • Ensure OSHA safety compliance and jobsite standards
  • Monitor quality, progress, and budgets
  • Coordinate with project teams and stakeholders
  • Conduct site inspections and resolve issues
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of construction supervision experience
  • 5+ years managing large commercial/industrial projects
  • Experience with Walmart or similar big-box retail projects
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to travel nationally
  • Valid driver's license

Preferred:
  • Degree in Construction Management or related field
  • OSHA 30+ certification
  • Experience with ProCore, Bluebeam, or AutoDesk
  • Experience working in active/open-store environments
