Job description

Job Summary
From its beginnings in 1946 as a struggling cooperative with eight members - all owners of their own individual grocery stores - Wakefern Food Corp. has grown to become the largest retailer-owned cooperative in the United States. Wakefern, with its subsidiaries and member companies, employs more than 70,000 people, making it one of the largest employers in New Jersey.
Wakefern's unique cooperative structure allows independent grocers to compete, innovate, and succeed against large and multinational chains. Wakefern's strength lies in the partnership between its retail members and its professional staff. The company buys, warehouses, merchandises, and transports products for all of its stores and provides value-added support services.
Skills and Requirements
Today, Wakefern, subsidiaries, and 50 member families own and operate 350+ retail supermarkets under the ShopRite, PriceRite, The Fresh Grocer, Readington Farms, and Dearborn Market banners along the East Coast. In addition, Wakefern provides a broad product offering of high quality products, services, and knowledge to independent retailers and wholesale customers.
