Position Description
This position is responsible for providing effective instruction in assigned clinical courses.
Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions)
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the primary job functions herein described
*Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner in accordance with published course descriptions
*Performs course documentation duties for those courses assigned
*Organizes and maintains laboratory and clinical areas, including physical facilities, equipment and materials in a clean, neat, operating condition, when applicable
*Maintains accurate scholastic records of students enrolled in classes, and submits required reports to the appropriate Dean and to the registrar
Schedules, posts, and maintains regular office hours for consultation with students
Continually monitors student's radiation safety behaviors in the laboratory and clinical settings
Serves as faculty advisor to students
When possible, counsels students concerning any problems which they may present, or refers to proper resources
Performs duties incidental to institutional public relations, student registration, recruiting, advising prospective students, and other functions of the College
Maintains contact with area health care centers and assists in the placement of graduates
Serves as member of faculty or advisory committees to which assigned
Reviews and recommends additions to library holdings, textbooks and audio-visual or other teaching aids
Participates in continuing professional education and community activities related to Radiography
Participates in ongoing curriculum evaluation and recommends curriculum changes as appropriate to changing needs of the program
Provides regular and timely feedback to students regarding progress
Maintains current knowledge of program policies, procedures and student progress
Participates in graduation exercises
Promotes continuous improvement by completing an annual applied benchmark project on an individual or a group basis
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Able to use a wide variety of teaching methods to promote learning
Good organizational skills
Innovative, creative, motivated and work well with others
Ability to exhibit good interpersonal skills
Able to maintain records accurately and able to meet deadlines consistently
Able to perform normal duties with minimal supervision
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrate resourcefulness, initiative, enthusiasm, and a sincere interest in helping students reach their maximum potential
Minimum Requirements:
Associate's degree
Unofficial transcripts, copies of required licenses and certificates must be attached with your online application prior to submission or submitted to Human Resources immediately upon completing the application. Must be credentialed in Radiography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
Two years full-time employment as a clinical practitioner in Medical Radiography
Preferences:
Previous teaching experience in Radiography or another health related area
Previous experience providing clinical instruction and/or supervision of radiography students
