Summary
Highly skilled journeyman lineman who leads and supervises crews in the installation, maintenance, and repair of overhead and underground electric lines. Crew leaders supervise daily operations, conduct safety briefings, and ensure compliance with WEMC standards while mentoring apprentice.
Principal Duties
  • Lead power line crew in safe, proper construction and maintenance practices.
  • Trains apprentice lineman in proper methods and procedures for power line work.
  • Responsible for the safe use and maintenance of all tools and equipment required for the job.
  • Maintain crew productivity and meet project timelines
  • Operate and oversee proper use of bucket trucks, digger derricks, and line equipment
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders
  • Supervises and participates in making emergency repairs during disruption of service
  • Serves in the on-call rotation and responds to call-back when conditions mandate
  • Communicate with members/property owners; investigates and troubleshoots power outages and other service abnormalities.
  • Monitor work quality and ensure adherence to construction standards
  • Coordinates work with dispatch, engineers, inspectors, and other crews
Demonstrate Crew Leader abilities. North Carolina CDL license with Trailer Endorsement required.
Demonstrates awareness that the job exists to effectively serve every consumer and that every opportunity to achieve increased consumer and public understanding for the support of the cooperation.
