Job description

Description
The Waitlist Specialist will assist candidates with locating appropriate housing and will process applications for municipal housing. Waitlist specialists conduct an eligibility assessment for each potential member and then identify any available housing. They familiarize clients with their rights and responsibilities as members of our co-ops and provide all necessary and beneficial applicable information.
Essential functions

  • Interviews applicants and determines eligibility for housing programs.
  • Sends required paperwork and explains the application process; verifies the accuracy of the information submitted.
  • Maintains records, collecting and completing all required documentation.
  • Explains housing authority regulations to applicants; facilitates and ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Answer phone for Michigan region waitlist using CSI's formatted script to ensure fair housing practices.
  • Meets with walk-ins who are seeking housing
  • Attends CSI co-op meetings
  • Creates, updates, and stores CSI's co-ops pre-applications and online paperwork as needed as a backup to Waitlist Supervisor
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

Work authorization/security clearance requirements
