Job Summary
Are you a motivated and detail-oriented individual looking for a new opportunity? We're seeking a Material Handler to join our team in Clare, MI. In this role, you'll be a vital part of our operations, helping us to provide support to production associates by receiving, dispensing, and accurately maintaining inventory in a safe, clean, and organized work area.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Material Handler, your core responsibilities will include:
  • Maintaining Inventory: Receiving, dispensing, and accurately maintaining inventory, including assisting with maintaining inventory levels for vertical storage units (VSU).
  • ERP System Utilization: Utilizing the ERP system for all transactions.
  • Material Transport: Utilizing a fork truck, carts, and other approved methods to transport materials between departments.
In addition, you will also be expected to maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area, report any unplanned issues to the Team Leader, and perform cycle counts on products and materials.
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should have the following:
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic math skills.
  • 1 year forklift experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the English language.
  • Frequent use of hands that comes with the use of tools.
  • Agility of the upper and lower body extremities with the ability to reach, crouch, kneel, or stoop.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Capable of lifting 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds on occasion.
Skills:
  • Work Area Organization: Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area.
  • ERP System Proficiency: Utilizing the ERP system for all transactions.
  • Inventory Management: Assisting with maintaining inventory levels for vertical storage units (VSU) and assuring accurate inventory levels by correctly backflushing work orders.
  • Issue Reporting: Reporting any unplanned issues to the Team Leader.
  • Component Preparation: Pulling together all non-floor stock components that are in the VSU for work orders, including printing any labels that are needed.
  • Hardware Receiving and Placement: Receiving hardware into the VSU unit placement in proper storeroom location and sequence.
  • Collaboration: Conferring with the Team Leader or Crew Leader on work orders and job orders for the delivery of hardware.
  • Material Transport: Utilizing a fork truck, carts, and other approved methods to transport materials between departments.
  • Cycle Counting: Performing cycle counts on products and materials.
