Whether it is in the design and safety of new generations of cars, trucks and planes, or optimizing advanced medical equipment and consumer products, VPG's deep engineering expertise is making the world safer, smarter, and productive.
We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our team as a Crating Specialist in Poestenkill, NY.
The Crating Specialist is responsible for reading and understanding assembly prints for the purpose of building various pieces of equipment and equipment packaging.
Here are some of the responsibilities of the position:
  • Responsible for reading and following assembly drawings and work order instructions for all crating and machine packaging.
  • Responsible for reading and following assembly drawings and work order instructions for all assembly work.
  • Work with the Service Engineering department to commission and troubleshoot machine issues
  • Work with the Engineering department and Production team to improve designs and manufacturability of all parts.

  • Be able to build shipping crates safely and efficiently
  • Be able to read / write English proficiently

Requirements
Academic/Professional Education: High school or GED
Military experience a plus
Relevant Experience: 3-5 years hands on experience
Technical Skills/Knowledge: Knowledge of mechanical assembly drawings, ability to work with numerous specialized hand tools
