Job description

Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is seeking a highly experienced Vice President, Hardware Development to lead the strategy, engineering execution, and global delivery of enterprise hardware platforms, intelligent peripherals, proprietary operating systems, and cloud-connected device management solutions.

This executive will lead global engineering teams responsible for the complete hardware lifecycle, including architecture, design, validation, manufacturing, deployment, and sustaining support. The ideal candidate combines deep OEM/ODM expertise with exceptional technical leadership and a proven ability to drive next-generation platform development utilizing AI, edge computing, Linux-based operating systems, and intelligent peripheral ecosystems.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field required.
  • 15+ years of OEM/ODM hardware development experience.
  • Proven experience leading global hardware engineering organizations.
  • Deep technical expertise in:
  • Enterprise hardware platforms
  • Embedded systems
  • Linux-based operating systems
  • Intelligent peripherals
  • Cloud-connected device management
  • Edge computing technologies
  • Proven success leading development organizations across the United States, Taiwan, and Guadalajara, Mexico.
  • Strong experience bringing hardware products from concept through manufacturing and production scale.

Essential Functions / Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of current and future-generation enterprise hardware platforms and intelligent peripheral ecosystems.
  • Drive end-to-end hardware development, including architecture, engineering, validation, manufacturing readiness, and lifecycle management.
  • Lead development of the proprietary TCxSky OS leveraging Linux foundation technologies.
  • Drive cloud-based system management and deployment capabilities, including remote provisioning, telemetry, monitoring, diagnostics, and lifecycle automation.
  • Lead geographically distributed engineering organizations across the United States, Taiwan, and Guadalajara, Mexico.
  • Manage strategic OEM/ODM, manufacturing, and technology partner relationships.
  • Drive innovation initiatives leveraging AI, edge computing, automation, and intelligent device technologies.
  • Partner directly with strategic customers to resolve complex technical escalations and operational issues.
  • Foster a culture of engineering excellence, accountability, innovation, and customer focus.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management, Software Engineering, Manufacturing, Services, Support, and Sales to ensure successful product delivery and execution.
