Job Overview

The Vice President of Strategic Finance is a senior finance leader responsible for driving enterprise profitability, growth strategy, and financial performance across SBM. This role integrates traditional finance leadership with commercial strategy, pricing, and market expansion. The VP will partner closely with the CFO and executive leadership team to:

  • Optimize margin and cash flow across the portfolio

  • Drive new business growth and expansion into target verticals

  • Develop cross-selling strategies to optimize growth across all major contracts

  • Identify and resolve under performing operations and accounts

This role requires a highly analytical, externally oriented leader capable of influencing both operational execution and corporate strategy.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Enterprise Financial Leadership

  • Provide executive oversight of financial performance, reporting, and analytics across the organization

  • Maintain deep understanding of financial statements, cost structures, and operating drivers

  • Drive continuous improvement in cost savings and budget performance

2. Profitability & Performance Optimization

  • Own enterprise margin strategy across fixed fee, T&M, and performance-based contracts

  • Identify, analyze, and remediate underperforming contracts and business units

  • Partner with operations to improve labor efficiency, cost structure, and profitability

  • Design and implement financial models to incentivize organic growth and margin expansion

  • Develop performance-based bonus and incentive frameworks aligned to EBITDA growth

3. Strategic Finance & Pricing

  • Evaluate contract economics, pricing models, and NPV returns

  • Benchmark competitor pricing and industry margins to reposition offerings

  • Support major bids, RFPs, and client negotiations with financial insights

4. Business Development & Market Expansion (~40-50%)

  • Drive net-new revenue growth across priority verticals and sales channels

  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies aligned to high-growth segments

  • Identify cross-sell opportunities across services and existing clients

  • Conduct market analysis to identify emerging opportunities

5. Executive Partnership & Leadership

  • Act as a strategic thought partner to the CFO and senior leadership team

  • Present insights, recommendations, and performance updates to executive leadership and stakeholders

  • Lead cross-functional alignment across Finance, Operations, and Sales

  • Drive accountability for financial and operational performance across divisions

Qualification

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field (required)

MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred

CPA, CFA, or similar credential a plus

5+ years in strategic finance, corporate finance, or consulting

Experience in facilities management, IFM, or service-based industries strongly preferred

Proven success driving revenue growth and margin expansion

Deep experience with pricing strategy, contract structures, and deal economics

Strong background in financial modeling and analytics

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

High-impact, externally oriented finance leader with strong commercial instincts

Executive presence with the ability to influence C-suite decision-

Data-driven with strong problem-solving capability

Comfortable operating across strategy, finance, and operations

Willingness to travel and engage directly with clients and field operations

Supervisory Responsibilities

Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, and directing work; performance evaluations; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Ensure employees are properly trained on tasks and safety requirements.
