Job description

Indiana University Health is seeking individuals who embody these values to join our leadership team in the role of Vice President – Ambulatory Development and Market Enablement.

Leads the ambulatory growth and activation functions for the IU Health Medical Group. Identifies, pursues, and executes growth opportunities to improve patient access, strengthen market position, expand physician and advanced provider capacity, and advance IU Health's ambulatory strategic objectives while improving the health of the state. In partnership with key stakeholders including System Business Development, conducts and assesses ambulatory and medical group market research specifically to identify growth opportunities and trends and develop and execute business plans for expansion and growth. Develops growth and activation business plans for executive leadership and key stakeholders. Identifies potential partnerships, growth, and/or business agreements in support of ambulatory growth. Identifies, builds, and manages existing and potential client/partner relationships in support of short and long-term ambulatory growth. Identifies and activates unidentified, dormant, or underutilized assets, specialties, or patient segments. Designs and implements activation campaigns or programs to re-engage or expand Medical Group impact and reach. Measures activation effectiveness and adjusts strategies and plans based on performance data. Coordinates cross-functional teams to execute activation initiatives. Interacts with all levels of the organization leading through influence, collaboration, and executive alignment across the system.

Reports to: Vice President, Chief Operating Officer – Medical Group

Candidate Qualifications

Candidates for the position will be evaluated according to the following criteria and competencies.

  • Master's Degree is required.
  • Requires 10 plus years of relevant experience and 4 years of people leader experience.
  • Prior experience leading and negotiating merger, acquisition, divestiture, or partnership transactions from conception through deal close and post-close activities is required.
  • Requires strong financial acumen and ability to perform complex quantitative and qualitative analysis in order to support and recommend business development and growth decisions for the Medical Group.
  • Requires experience leading business development, activation of plans, and deployment teams.
  • Requires knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local regulatory agency guidelines and laws.
  • Must be comfortable and adept serving as a representative of IU Health in the community.
  • Must be comfortable analyzing financial models, valuations, and pro formas.
  • Requires the highest personal integrity and ethics with a visible commitment to the mission of IU Health.
  • Experience in the Indiana healthcare market and established, positive relationships in the broader healthcare and business communities are preferred.
