Job description

The VP, Product and Vertical Marketing is the founding leader of Quantinuum's product and vertical marketing function, accountable for the core positioning, launch narrative, use-case architecture, and market-facing value articulation that every segment, partner, and regional team inherits. The role sets the enterprise-wide standard for how we translate complex offerings into clear positioning, launch narratives, use-case packaging, and sales-relevant messaging across enterprise, government, and technical buying environments.
As the founding leader, the VP builds and scales the function over time. The initial emphasis is on product marketing ownership, including positioning and messaging, launch narrative, persona and use-case definition, sales enablement inputs, and market requirements insight, together with market research and technical marketing. From that base, the role extends into vertical marketing across our priority segments and into use-case marketing, including AI and LLM applications. Throughout, the VP defines the central value proposition and message architecture that segment, partner, and regional teams adapt for their audiences.Success depends on turning product understanding, customer evidence, and market context into reusable frameworks that improve core positioning, launch clarity, and the quality of commercial messaging used across real buying situations.
Reporting and team
The VP is accountable for designing, hiring, and scaling the organization as priority segments activate. The team grows along a staged path: product marketing first, including technical marketing, then vertical marketing across materials and chemicals, financial services, pharma and life sciences, and government and public sector, then use-case marketing, including AI and LLM applications. Directors and senior managers are hired against this path as segments come online, reporting to the VP.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Function Leadership and Organization Design: Own the vision, long-term roadmap, and capability model for product and vertical marketing. Lead the current team and design, hire, and scale directors and senior managers as priority segments activate.
  • Product Positioning and Messaging: Define and evolve core positioning, differentiated messaging, and offering-level value articulation for priority products and solutions.
  • Launch Narrative: Shape launch narratives and supporting message architecture for major product and offering moments.
  • Persona and Use-Case Definition: Clarify priority buyers, personas, use cases, and problem framing across key markets and buying contexts.
  • Vertical Narrative Architecture: Define the central value proposition and vertical message architecture that segment, partner, and regional teams, adapt for specific audiences across materials and chemicals, financial services, pharma and life sciences, and government and public sector.
  • Sales Enablement Inputs: Create message frameworks, core enablement materials, and commercial-facing narrative tools that support field execution.
  • Competitive and Technical Marketing Own business level competitive framing, technical marketing, and commercial objection guidance within the team, and coordinate with adjacent functions
  • Analyst Relations Content: Lead the analyst narrative, positioning, and briefing content, working with the program owner in product marketing or corporate communications.
  • Proof-Linked Packaging: Incorporate customer evidence, references, and proof inputs into market-facing packaging, launches, and web inputs.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with Campaigns, Content, Brand, Web, and sales to keep the core story consistent, commercially useful, and easier for downstream teams to apply.
  • AI-Enabled PMM Workflows: Apply AI-enabled workflows to signal synthesis, use-case mapping, messaging iteration, asset development, and insight capture while maintaining strong narrative judgment.

YOU MUST HAVE:
  • Significant experience in product marketing, vertical marketing, solutions marketing, or a related B2B enterprise marketing role.
  • Demonstrated success translating complex offerings into clear market positioning, use-case narratives, and enablement assets.
  • Strong experience supporting technical or high-consideration buying motions with differentiated messaging and proof-backed storytelling.
  • Ability to connect product understanding, buyer needs, and commercial priorities into reusable go-to-market packaging.
  • Experience building launch narratives, persona frameworks, use-case packaging, and sales enablement inputs in a complex technology environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complexity without losing precision.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with product, sales, content, campaigns, and marketing stakeholders.
  • Experience building and leading a product or vertical marketing team, including hiring and developing directors and senior managers, or clear readiness to lead at that scale as the function grows.
  • Tangible experience using AI-powered tools and automation to improve efficiency, generate insights, and enhance execution across marketing and/or GTM workflows.
  • Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status
  • Due to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen.

WE VALUE:
  • Experience in deep-tech, advanced technology, or technically complex B2B environments.
  • Familiarity with government, public sector, or procurement-aware messaging contexts.
  • Experience using customer evidence and technical validation to strengthen product narratives.
  • Strong instincts for message architecture, commercial enablement, and market narrative design.
