Job description

Position Summary

The Area Vice President is responsible for driving and directing the sales function of Oncology sales in an assigned geographic area and for developing and executing the national Caris sales strategy. Leads an area sales team of Regional Business Directors, Molecular Oncology Specialists, and Account Managers to meet and exceed area volume and revenue goals. Provides and coordinates direct sales and client relations functions.

Job Responsibilities
  • Meet or exceed direct sales volume and revenue targets.
  • Develop area sales strategy; analyze opportunities and create strategic plans.
  • Establish senior relationships within key accounts; build, train, and manage the sales team.
  • Provide marketplace feedback and report industry/competitive insights.
  • Build cross-functional relationships for product development, pipeline management, compensation plans, sales reporting, and forecasting.
  • Maintain timely communication with the Chief Commercial Officer regarding regional revenue and client relationships.
  • Sell Oncology services/technology to physicians; provide business solutions in practice settings.
  • Negotiate sales contracts (approved by Senior Vice President prior to implementation).
  • Advise senior management on client/market concerns; maintain core knowledge of competitors and reimbursement/billing issues.
  • Provide post-sales service; manage account communications and elevate when customer satisfaction is jeopardized.
  • Support physicians with CMI platform ordering/interpretation and QC reporting (may require access to PHI); follow up with hospital billing as appropriate.
  • Maintain assigned company assets; submit required reports and travel/activity documentation.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree.
  • 5+ years people leadership with strong understanding of oncology, pathology and/or diagnostic market.
  • Strong physician/client relationship understanding; proven success with large global brand marketers/agencies.
  • Decision-making under pressure; communicate solutions effectively.
  • General understanding of business policies; proficiency in Microsoft Office and Internet.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license, clean record, reliable vehicle/insurance meeting company requirements.
  • Willingness to travel; 50% of time in the field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA; experience leading leaders.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
