Job description

VP Of Quality And Risk

Serves as a member of the System Senior Executive Team providing strategic thought leadership and direction for the Quality and Patient Safety, Infection Control, Clinical & Non-Clinical Risk, Accreditation, Colleague Safety, and Patient Experience programs across the acute care and ambulatory environment. Serves as the Leader for Quality working with the MINISTRY and local boards to oversee quality, patient safety, colleague safety, patient experience, infection control, Risk management, regulatory compliance, and a broad scope of performance improvement support functions for the health system. The VP of Quality and Risk leads the enabling strategies to assure regulatory compliance, risk management, data analytics and clinical informatics necessary to fulfill and sustain the mission and vision. Works with the Chief Nursing Officers to lead the System Clinical Quality Council and manages key services, staff, and operational areas of the health system.

Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Trinity Health Mission, Vision and values in behaviors, practices and decisions. Meets medical center's Customer Services Standards including interpersonal communication and professional conduct expectations. Serves as a member of the Senior Management Team in formalizing, implementing and, communicating the system, hospitals and medical group quality and patient safety programs. Develops consistent strategies for the system quality and focused approach to improving quality and value for the system strategic 5-year plan. Works with appropriate hospital and medical director/leaders to assure consistency and achieve long-term quality objectives. Develops the 5-year quality, patient safety, risk management, infection control, and patient experience, and colleague safety strategic plan and the annual operations plan, then monitors and directs System, hospital, and medical group performance to the plans. Serves as staff to the Board of Directors, Quality Committees, and to System Board Committees. Leads key service, operational, and staff areas as assigned by the CEO on the organizational chart including the stewardship of human, financial, and material resources; quality and efficient services; and the alignment of the services of the assigned areas to the strategic plan. Liaison to Trinity Heath System by serving on various councils and task forces as assigned and as a participant in the Trinity leadership group. Implements Trinity programs and directives. Represents MINISTRY to the STATE and State business, service, and healthcare community by active participation and leadership within various organizations. Liaison and staff to the Medical Staff and Medical Staff Committees of MINISTRY. Responsible for the entire quality and patient safety efforts of the organization and MINISTRY; this includes oversight of Risk Management, infection control function, and MINISTRY Quality, Patient Experience, Colleague Safety and Patient Safety departments. Serves as the designated Management Rep and is responsible for fulfillment of all regulatory requirements of JCAHO, DNV, Medicare, and State Health and Welfare for MINISTRY. Is responsible as the Patient Safety Officer for the organization and MINISTRY, to improve and enhance all patient safety efforts and initiatives. Provide strategic support to the Accountable Health Network President, and the President to assure development of value driven healthcare across a broad continuum and durable and sustainable relationships. Participates in various committees and structures including: Alliance committees, payer and employer negotiating teams, President's council, strategy council as needed, SLT, Genesis Oversight, Corporate Compliance as needed. Ensure coordination of a broad definition of quality, safety, risk management, and patient experience across all MINISTRY.

Master's degree in business administration or specific field or discipline. 5 years relevant administrative experience (Health or Business) at a Senior Management level or in positions that supported Senior Management and strategic direction with Board and Medical Staff interactions. Demonstrated team, performance analysis, presentation, interpersonal, facilitation, planning, and communication skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of applications.

Must be able to adapt to frequently changing work priorities and be able to prioritize and balance the requirements of working with the System Office and Regional Health Ministries (RHMs).

Must be able to travel to the various Trinity Health sites as needed

Salary Range: $170,040 - $255,112

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
