This individual will play a critical role in shaping the financial future of the organization while serving as a strategic partner to the CEO, executive team, and Board of Directors.Position SummaryThe Vice President of Finance is responsible for the overall financial leadership of the organization, including accounting, financial planning and analysis, treasury management, banking relationships, risk management, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and financial reporting.This position serves as a key advisor to executive leadership, helping drive business performance, support strategic initiatives, evaluate growth opportunities, and ensure the long-term financial health of the company. The Vice President of Finance will lead a talented finance and accounting team while building scalable processes and systems that support continued growth.This is a 100% onsite position based at our corporate headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.The ideal candidate combines strong financial and business acumen with the ability to build relationships, influence decisions, and lead through collaboration.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide strategic financial leadership to the CEO, executive leadership team, and Board of Directors.Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and financial modeling activities.Develop and communicate financial insights that support operational and strategic decision-making.Oversee monthly close, financial reporting, and financial statement preparation.Monitor key business metrics, profitability trends, and operational performance indicators.Manage cash flow, liquidity, working capital, debt obligations, and covenant compliance.Lead banking relationships, financing activities, and treasury management functions.Evaluate capital investments, acquisition opportunities, and other strategic growth initiatives.Ensure effective internal controls, financial compliance, and risk management practices.Coordinate annual audits, tax activities, and ESOP valuation support.Oversee insurance programs, treasury risk management, and business continuity planning.Serve as a key participant in Board presentations and executive planning discussions.Lead, develop, and mentor finance and accounting team members.Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and organizational efficiencies across the finance function.Support succession planning and leadership development within the department.QualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.Minimum of 10 years of progressive finance and accounting leadership experience.Demonstrated experience leading budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and treasury functions.Experience partnering with executive leadership teams on strategic business decisions.Strong understanding of financial controls, risk management, and compliance requirements.Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.Exceptional analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.PreferredCPA, CMA, MBA, or other advanced financial credential.Experience within distribution, manufacturing, wholesale, logistics, or other operationally focused industries.Experience working in an ESOP environment.Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, capital planning, and financing transactions.Experience presenting to Boards of Directors and working closely with lenders and financial institutions.Why Join Palmer-Donavin?This is a unique opportunity to influence the direction of a well-established, employee-owned organization while working directly alongside executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
