Genesis10 is currently seeking a Vice President, Mortgage Technology - Onsite position with a Financial Services Organization located in Anaheim, CA. This is a direct hire opportunity. Salary range $180,000 - $220,000 + Bonus, DOE As the Vice President of Mortgage Technology, you will own the technology that runs the loan origination business. You will lead the Mortgage Technology team—comprising a Development Lead, developers, system administrators, and Business Analysts—and be accountable for the stability, security, and evolution of the loan origination system and its surrounding ecosystem. This is a leadership role with a technical focus, balancing people management, delivery, and strategy to bridge the gap between business goals and the technology platform. Responsibilities: Strategy and Business Alignment Participate as a technology leader in strategic business discussions and translate business goals into a mortgage technology roadmap Own and communicate a multi-quarter roadmap for the platform and its integrations Establish and run an intake and prioritization process for technology requests Lead build-versus-buy and build-versus-configure decisions Define and set direction for platform modernization initiatives, including migrating from legacy SDK to cloud-native APIs and event-driven architecture Maintain the relationship with technology vendors and stay ahead of the product roadmap Report on technology performance to executive leadership Loan Point-of-Sale (POS) and Loan Origination System (LOS) Leadership Lead the ongoing administration, enhancement, and optimization of mortgage loan point-of-sale platforms Drive improvements in borrower and loan officer experiences through digital self-service and automation Lead LOS modernization efforts to improve loan processing efficiency, quality, and compliance Oversee integrations with underwriting, pricing, document management, and other third-party vendor platforms People Management and Team Development Lead, manage, and develop the Mortgage Technology team Own the full people-management cycle: hiring, goal setting, coaching, performance reviews, and compensation Plan team structure and headcount, managing a mix of employees and contractors Build career paths and development plans for team members Establish succession and coverage plans to eliminate single points of failure Technology Delivery and Execution Own end-to-end delivery for the Mortgage Technology portfolio, committing to dates and meeting them Establish and manage the department's delivery cadence, including sprint or Kanban practices Review and approve estimates, delivery plans, and resource allocation Own production stability, including incident command for major issues and root-cause analysis Engineering Standards, CI/CD, and Change Governance Create and maintain the department's standards for the software development lifecycle Define and own the CI/CD strategy for customizations and integrations Establish and document the change management process Set standards for configuration governance and technical documentation Risk, Audit, and Compliance Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external audits, regulatory examinations, and due diligence requests Fulfill audit requests and manage remediation of any findings Own periodic user access reviews and entitlement recertification Ensure technology practices support the company's regulatory and compliance obligations Requirements: 10 years in software development and technology delivery, including 5 years directly managing technical teams 5 years working with a major mortgage technology platform, with depth in both development (SDK and/or APIs) and administration Hands-on background in C#, VB NET and JavaScript Demonstrated ownership of a technology delivery portfolio Experience defining and implementing SDLC standards and CI/CD practices Experience serving as a technology point of contact for audits and examinations Experience owning a departmental budget, including planning and vendor negotiation Strong understanding of the mortgage industry, including the loan life cycle and regulatory environment Ability to communicate credibly with both executive and technical audiences Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience Regular on-site attendance Desired skills: Experience leading technology for a mortgage lender, bank, or fintech in a regulated environment Mortgage technology platform certifications (Administrator and/or Developer) Experience with the broader mortgage technology product family and third-party platforms Experience leading a legacy-to-cloud or SDK-to-API modernization program Experience with SOC, SOX, GLBA, CFPB examination, or investor audit processes Experience with data warehouse, reporting, and analytics delivery built on origination data Experience managing distributed teams or consulting partners If you have the described qualifications and are interested in this exciting opportunity, please apply!
